You can't even convince most people that sexual orientation is even a binary. What makes you think you can educate them on the nuances and various categorizations such as bisexuality, pansexuality, and asexuality?

It's more like the opposite of an orientation.

You like men? That's an orientation.

You like sex in general? That's a given. If you were a boat, you'd be adrift at sea, marveling at the potential to go anywhere, but not actually doing so.

If sleeping with both genders appeals to you, then you are bisexual, it's pretty simple.

I've known for as long as I've been interested in sex that women turn me on. The thought of having sex with another guy is repulsive, couldn't pay me enough to do it. That's not to say I have any problem with people who are gay or bi. On the contrary I'd guess my feelin towards sex with another guy are pretty much in line with a gay person's feeling toward sex with the opposite gender.

"Sexual orientation" is a fraud committed by psychologists.  Everyone gets their freak on in their own unique fashion.  Categorizing people by a subjective "orientation" is no more scientifically valid than categorizing them by astrological sign.

I'm about as versed in the QUILTBAG crap as you can get but I don't buy this one. I really don't see what separates "pansexuality" from absolute bisexuality, other than some gobbledegook about romance and "loving people for people," which really applies to every sexuality. It just seems like a superfluous term.

A lot of the time the bisexuality doubters are homosexuals who believe in their heart-of-hearts that bisexuals are just "halfway in the closet" and can't accept that they're gay.

I think these particular homosexuals are probably jerks.

The best way it was explained to me was making determinations about romantic and sexual attraction without the involvement of primary sexual characteristics or biological gender being involved at all.

Nope, that's one of the things that confuses a lot of gay guys about some straight men. You're not interested in sex with men. Fine. That's perfectly normal. You're repulsed by it and wouldn't do it for any reason? Please. That's some hypermasculine bullshiat, either faked or deeply internalized, or it's aversion to something repressed. A lot, if not most, gay men have had sex with women at some point just to see if they like it or try to prove to themselves or others they weren't actually gay while in denial. Very few are repulsed by the idea, they just don't get much out of it.

Well according to quite a few serious psycologists (like the ones that decided homosexuality shouldnt be listed as a mental disorder) there is no such thing as a true bisexual at the emotional level. You will fark either team but you are only gonna have a serious relationship with one side or the other in the end.

Pansexuality cares not a white about gender OR gender identity. A pansexual is attracted to anyone:

Homosexual men
Bisexual men
Heterosexual men
Asexual men
Homosexual women
Bisexual women
Heterosexual women
Assexual women
Homosexual transgendered men
Bisexual transgendered men
Heterosexual transgendered men
Asexual transgendered men
Homosexual transgendered women
Bisexual transgendered woman
Heterosexual transgendered women
Asexual transgendered women
Etc.

A bisexual is generally only interested in:
Bisexual men
Bisexual women
Heterosexual members of the opposite gender
Homosexual members of the same gender

It's a subtle difference, but it is a difference.
