Look. Here's the honest truth. If you're the sort of guy who needs to get
a lady drunk in a bar to have a shot at her, you might need some help.
Despite some men's inclination to embrace their base natures,
I feel that we should all endeavor to foster a mutually respectful,
equal atmosphere where men and women can safely intermingle,
speak to one another as respectful adults, enjoy intellectual conversations about,
say, current events, literature, movies, fashion, sporting events,
easily dozens of topics that might help us get to know one another and have
nothing to do with lame pick-up lines, boozy come-ons, the tactics used by beast-like men who
don't think with anything but that little appendage that dangles
between their legs.
It's disgusting, really. It disgusts me.
Everyone should be disgusted by that sort of behavior.
Personally, I hope that women understand that there are plenty of men,
lovely men, out there who want only to respect them,
engage with them as intellectual beings, admire them as beautiful human beings,
and not reduce them so callously to mere sexual object.
Seriously, ladies, you deserve so much more than that.
Enjoy yourselves, but demand respect.

I seduce women with my respect for their gender as a whole, and their own respect for keeping their bodies in sexy shape.

It's not like this is a secret.  "Ladies night" has existed for decades because of this.  Also, when I was college, some bars were 21 for men, 18 for women.

They also forgot a comma.  And many of us do, especially in a bar.

"Ladies get $2 martinis and $3 wines."

That's just the ugly ones. Pretty girls aren't aware that drinks cost money.

Kind of makes me wonder what the fark "ladies night" is. Isn't every night "ladies' night" if you're young and attractive?

Howsabout "Mens' Night"? Where guys drink for half price.

Equality of the sexes and all that.

*crickets*

/no, I'm not buying you a drink
//buy your own farking drink

It's kind of crappy for them to run with a story of a vaguely "offensive" facebook post for some bar that has already been deleted and apologized for

I would be terrified to hook up with a college chick at a bar/club/party.  I feel for those unfortunate souls that do.

I'm confused as to why the truth is causing so much frustration in people. Are they upset they can no longer pretend that college bars sole purpose isn't to fuel date rape chages?

Nonsense. The fat ones are usually the first ones at the bar. It takes them longer to get drunk and for guys to get the beer goggles going. More likely Miss Donovan is thin and flat chested. And goes around telling people to stop having fun.

Of course the offended females would not take that as a warning instead of an invitation....

Bars are businesses. A men's night will more likely than not be a financial loser for them.

2013-11-07 04:38:46 PM
I get that, but I still don't see how ladies' night isn't a loser as well.

Regular night: Guys drink, ladies drink... regardless of who's paying all drinks are full price.
Ladies' night: Guys drink, ladies drink... half (theoretically) of the drinks are full price, half are half price.

Which night makes more money? The only real difference is that the ladies are far more likely to pay for their own drinks when they're cheap.

A lot more guys show up for ladies night than do on a regular night (because hey chicks bro and what not.)  Thus, a lot more drinks at full price.  In addition, a lot more women show up (because hey cheap drinks...sis?  And what not.), so it's a lot of drinks at half price.  Which is still a good bit of profit.

If there were a guys night, women wouldn't come anywhere near the place, so it'd just be a bar full of half price drinks.  Not nearly as profitable.

(As a guy I think this sucks, but it's the fact of the matter.)

Well yeah, that's the draw. The girls go because they think they're getting a bargain but how much do girls really drink, anyway? I'm not talking about Marion from Raiders of the Lost Ark or Archer's mother, I'm talking regular girls. A couple beers? A fruity drink or two that takes ten minutes to make?  So they don't make a ton of money off of girls anyway. Ladies night is about drawing guys in who think they'll ball some drunk chick (which is farked up on the guy's part, he being a date rapist and all but none of the bar's business).

Further's my point.  And I never even considered that, but god yes, guy's night would be a sh*tload more cheap drinks.  AND a dearth of ladies, AND the ones that are there are only drinking a precious few full tie drinks.  (Although the ones that would be there would likely be the Marion/Archer's mom/several-of-my-exes type.)

Just say the hell with it and do nickel beer.  We're guys, we'll drink Southpaw if it's nickel beer night.

Beats me. I've never been a beer snob. I drink mostly vodka now anyway. I suppose I prefer Guinness but if someone put The Beast in front of me I wouldn't care. If it was free.

And sure there are girls who can drink but they're the exception and not something a bar counts on. And who would shag a girl who was shiat faced anyway? I'd be too preoccupied with what a scumbag I was being to perform.

It was served on nickel beer night at this one bar I used to frequent.  It was great for that.

This was about ten years ago, though.  I don't recall seeing it since, but I don't recall looking for it, either.  I guess I'm glad to hear it's still making the rounds.

You know, heaven help me not break my ass laughing if that takes PBR's place as the *ahem* "hipster" beer of choice.
