Errk: Weak....

Didn't Katie Couric have a full colonoscopy  live?

dabbletech: Anderson's Pooper: Proctologists should have to list their ring size along with their academic credentials.

Yeah, I asked my doctor if he was wearing Super Bowl ring.

In my case, it was more like strangestboner.jpg.

docrhody: The United States Preventative Services Task Force has recommended against Digital Rectal Exams since 1988. Look it up. This is an unnecessary invasion. Get a lab test for prostate specific antigen, if it is high, get the US. A Urologist may do a Digital exam if the PSA is high and they want to know quickly if the prostate is irregular (Cancer more likely) or symmetric (just enlarged).

Agree (although I don't know what the US is)

My DREs were always normal then they gave me the PSA for the first time, it was over 10.  I may have been in serious trouble if I hadn't switched doctors.  The old one didn't use the PSA, the cancer was large and moderately aggressive and would certainly have spread before it was noticed digitally or symptomatically.
