Aar1012: They were crushed by an actual defense.

They lost on a last-second FG, FFS. Stop feeding the moron hype train.

I dont know, I'd love the shiat show of an FSU/Ohio State NGC (A friend of mine went to FSU but is from Ohio originally) but I still hate LSU for the LSU/OSU NGC and I respect you, KT.

Can I be neutral?

I won't be surprised to see Baylor anywhere between 3 and 5.... especially in the BCS standings... they love Oklahoma.

Aar1012: usernameguy: How are these guys #3?

Oregon has been the bastion of PAC-12 style play. They're quick offense with high scoring games. Stanford, it seems, has invested something that hasn't been heard of in the PAC - Defense- and it is destroying Oregon. It happened when Oregon played in the NGC a few years ago. They were crushed by an actual defense.

Crushed by a last second field goal, eh?

As for since I've come in...would be nice to see DeAnthony Thomas TRY to recover the ball which he basically fell directly on. And Mariota needs to throw the damn ball away instead of waiting for three dudes to hit him for what would, at best, be a three-yard loss.

Ohio state did it in 2007 (?) too. Hit them in the mouth, they are soft.

Stanford just kinda owns Oregon. One of the things I hate about them - they ruin other top Pac teams' chances to win titles and then always sh*t the bed against a mediocre team so they can't do anything themselves. How the hell do you lose to f*cking UTAH?

That game is going to be a track meet.

Or 6-3.

I don't think either defense is good enough to keep the score that low.

You know ESPN would love the FSU seeking to beat an Urban Meyer team storyline.

Well, the game I went to, two years ago, we lost.  So I think I am staying home on Saturday.

karmaceutical: Where da hold??

I've noticed that, pac12 officials do not call holding at all, Oregon's center has hooked almost every guy rushing and would be flagged every play.

hughesrep: Ohio state did it in 2007 (?) too.

A game that was a two-point game until halfway through the fourth. And Oregon fumbled it through the end zone on a drive. And their kicker missed his first FG in months. And Oregon couldn't pass - they didn't have much of a problem running.

And really, the problem was that the opposing offense controlled the game and kept Oregon's offense off the field. Same as this game.

Stanford has had the same thing for a few years now, not just defense but ball control offense with quick strike capability. The easiest way to beat an offense is to keep them on the sidelines, eventually they will find a way to beat a defense but let desperation set in and things fall apart.

It could be the new storyline since the Clemson story line went nowhere

my overwhelming impression on that game, admittedly as a buckeyes fan, was they just got beat up. Stanford has done it twice, Alabama once...

You better hope FSU gets in there since thats OSU's only shot at winning a NCG and once it goes to a playoff Oscar Meyer's play weak go get in won't work.

Yeah people like him making excuses dont get it, playing a different style than they are used to gets them out of their element. When they run ball control it screws up their game plans.

2013-11-07 11:23:36 PM
lol @ announcers trying to say Oregon isn't done. Dude, you might be able to score, but your defense is incapable of stopping them. They don't even have to try to throw the ball. Oregon is done. Hell, Oregon's probably only going to get one more drive in this game.

They've actually gotten into the red zone on three of six drives. So they've been able to move the ball.

The problem is that they've scored zero points on those drives.

Yeah, dude, no one else tries to run ball control!

This just in, when people are able to do that WELL and the Oregon offense turns the ball over a lot, they have problems winning. That's something that's true no matter what kind of football you play, and has little to do with "overpowering" or any other idiotic "it boils down to them wanting it more"-type crap.

He just doesn't get it, auburn wasnt that good of a team when an average Oregon lost in the NC and Oregon isn't that good now, a decent ball control team beats these teams every time.

Two turnovers is not a lot, but the entire game they have been getting manhandled, that last series was the only time they looked ok and it appears Stanford dropped into softer coverages. Let's hope they didn't pull a Richt and start playing soft too soon.

When you only have six possessions, yes, two turnovers IS a lot. You don't consider turning the ball over 1/3 of the time to be a lot of turnovers?
