Love his songs if not his singing but still arent most of us shocked he made it this far knowing all the shiat he did and went through? The man has lived a long fascinating life and if he forgets half his memories it will be a better life than most of us have lived.

Throw in Heaven's Gate and we may have a deal.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry.

He told me he never said any such thing.....

I bet he wants to forget Blade Trinity too.

It would be a tragedy if he forgot the seven years he spent banging this lovely lady

Yep. Dude's life is like an adventure novel. Remarkable man.

So it was the boxing and football instead of all the drugs and alcohol?

Gotta love Kris though. Hell of a songwriter and hell of a guy. Hope he is OK because we have already lost almost all of the real country musicians.

2013-11-07 10:31:40 AM
I think if his friends surround him and play him some of his own incredible music over the years, he'll have a fighting chance of not losing too much.

If I had to pick on of my favorites:

Sunday Morning Coming Down(skip to 1:10 to bypass  the patter if you like and get to the awesome.)

exactly.

Kris came though Tulsa not too long ago. I swear someone actually said "Oh look another actor who thinks they can sing". rage.. I actually had rage.

I'll just leave this here Highwayman.

and subby can blow it out his ass. i'll take any movie from a coke addled sam peckinpah with KK, burt young, ernest borgnine and franklin ajaye

I'm saddened to hear about Kris Kristofferson's mental faculties turning on him. It seems like yesterday I was shocked that one of the Highwaymen had died, and nowadays, all that's left is Kris and Willie...

...hold up...
...Willie and...?
...OHHHHHHHH!

False alarm, everybody. I think I know why Kris is forgetting stuff.

Came here to say almost exactly this.

/Leaving satisfied.

Saw him live at the Ryman Auditorium a few months ago.  Fantastic performance by one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever to grace the stage.

2013-11-07 11:48:32 AM
That means he's probably forgetting Margot Kidder naked.

That's very sad.

2013-11-07 12:02:41 PM
I would put Big Top Pee Wee higher in the memory-loss priority list.

"Ethan Hawke, a lifelong Kristofferson fan, wrote a great profile of Kristofferson in Rolling Stone which opens with details of a backstage showdown with Toby Keith at Willie Nelson's 2003 birthday concert at Madison Square Garden. Hawke doesn't identify Keith by name, but he makes his identity pretty clear. "'At that moment in time, the Star had a monster radio hit about bombing America's enemies back into the Stone Age.'"

"'Up from the basement came one of country music's biggest stars (who shall remain nameless),'" writes Hawke, who reports the unnamed star told Kristofferson not to perform "'any of that lefty shiat out there tonight.'"

"'What the (blank) did you say to me?,'" Kris growled, stepping forward.

"'Oh, no,'" groaned Willie under his breath. "'Don't get Kris all riled up.'"

"'You heard me,'" said Keith.

"'Don't turn your back on me, boy,'" Kristofferson shouted. "'You ever wear your country's uniform?'" Kris asked rhetorically.

"'What?'"

"'Don't 'what' me, boy! You heard the question. You just don't like the answer.'" According to Hawke, Kris paused just long enough to get a full chest of air. "'I asked, 'Have you ever served your country?' The answer is no, you have not. Have you ever killed another man? Huh? Have you ever taken another man's life and then cashed the check your country gave you for doing it? No, you have not. So shut the (blank) up! You don't know what the (blank) you're talking about!'"

Ug... phone formatting.

Rolling Stone so yeah. Still makes for a good story.

Sad news - he's an interesting guy all-around, and one of my favorite songwriters.

"Best of All Possible Worlds"

2013-11-08 06:02:32 PM
The man is a legend.  I hope one day I get to meet him.  Him, Waylon, Willie and Johnny were one of the best "not-a-group" groups in the history of music.  Think about that a minute - the "least" of those guys was who?

I was born just right in history - I've heard all of them, remember them (for now).

#cue I-may-be-old-but-I-saw-all-the-cool-bands-guy

Definitely the most underrated of those guys...  and a hell of a songwriter

He is -- but he was FOR Afghanistan/Iraq.  Knowing the public personas of those involved, it's not unbelievable.

Evidently it is you.

Glen Campbell, also 77, revealed in 2011 that he has Alzheimer's disease,

No other mention of it in the article.
