Gulper Eel: Now that there's official one-party rule again in the city, expect corruption to blossom. Six Democratic (there aren't any other kind) members of the City Council will be hauled off on corruption charges and be replaced by six other Democrats.

Farnn: Something is wrong with a system where you can retire after 25-30 years with a pension equal to the average salary of your last 3 years. And during those last 3 years, you work tons of overtime and cash in your saved up vacation days and retire at 50 with a pension larger than your base salary. Supervisors allow you to work all the overtime because they want to pull the same trick and it's all part of the game.

Just show us on this doll where the bad union man touched you.  It's OK...

So we are concerned that the prior methods of dealing with the rampant, horrible poverty that kept the city super safe and awesome for the "haves" might be undone?  How will the young ingenue feel safe waiting on the sidewalk to get into the ultra exclusive club where table service is waiting for her?  The horror!  THE HORROR!  It's not her fault that the bottom 20% is average less than 10K a year.  Can we just stop talking about it for now?  It's a total buzzkill.

Gulper Eel: No, it's not going to go back to the bad old days just like that - the NYPD has acquired too many skills over the years for that to happen, and deBlasio will find out that all that surveillance and stop-n-frisking really was getting a shiatload of guns and dirtballs off the streets. I doubt there'll be any race-riotiing - Sonny Carson is dead, Al Sharpton fancies himself an elder statesman now, and Charles Barron has beclowned himself too many times.

The middle class will continue moving out of the city - only they'll leave the area altogether because the NYC suburbs aren't affordable either.

The state legislature isn't going to let DeBlaso have that big tax hike on rich folks, not without at the very least some horsetrading to give suburbanites a break from the MTA payroll tax.

Now that there's official one-party rule again in the city, expect corruption to blossom. Six Democratic (there aren't any other kind) members of the City Council will be hauled off on corruption charges and be replaced by six other Democrats.

De Blasio, WTF is this guy's problem?
