I like how all the sports "journalists" are pretending to be shocked and outraged by this "isolated incident" the likes of which they have "never seen anything like before."

As if hazing, "bullying," racism, general machismo horseshiat, and etc., are some bizarre and alien concept in a football team's locker room.

Right.

Here's one thing that puzzles me a little:

Richie Incognito used the N-word, repeatedly, and aimed directly at a teammate--in a sport where the majority of his teammates are black. For all of those people saying that the Dolphins should have handled this in-house, where were his teammates? How was Incognito not on the receiving end of a world-class beat-down at the hands of at least some of the several dozen black players on the Dolphins roster?

I'm not saying this should have happened; if it had, those players would likely be in more trouble than Incognito, and Incognito would appear at least slightly sympathetic. But those supposed "in-house" ways of dealing with this situation don't seem to be nearly as robust as some people seem to think they are. Some of the players may have had no idea of what was going on, but some of them undoubtedly did. Those that did either didn't care, or couldn't be bothered to intervene.

The coaches told Richie to "toughen up" Martin. The coaches not only knew about Richies behaviour, but condoned it.

Richie is right, nobody really gives a shiat this, it is just media crap going around. All any body cares about is watching grown men get concussions until their brains are turned into Jello for their entertainment.

On Mike and Mike this morning they interviewed Pierre Garcon, and he said he feels sorry for both players.  They went nuts.  When asked if he knew what Incognito said in the voicemails, he said he had no idea and there are probably lots of them, etc....  He didn't bother to prepare for the interview.  He isn't a member of the Dolphins. And he seems to think this is still a case of Incognito razzing some guy with making him pick up the dry cleaning.

It's in the Warrior Code, section 7, paragraph 4: "A Warrior can use the n-word, even if he is not black."
I'm sure his teammates wanted to kick his ass, but they live by the Code as well.

The deep south typically stops at either the Florida-Georgia line or at the most Ocala. More people in Miami know who Che Guevara was as opposed to Jeff Davis.

Some of it is but its still the south, just go 15 mins outside the city to find out. Most of Florida is a hick/redneck haven with places even I wont go as a white person.

According to what I've heard from guys like Tom Jackson on ESPN, this went WAY above and beyond the "giving rookies shiat" that is a well-known part of the NFL. Hell, when I saw TJ talking about this on TV, he was more (and more visibly) angry and upset than I can ever remember seeing him.

It almost seems like a case of the"bystander effect" phenomenon, where everyone sees it going on, but nobody wants to be the first guy to step forward and do something about it. They all stand there waiting for someone else to intervene.

The Florida phenomenon--the farther south you go, the farther north you get.
