Is there any close election tonight at all? The AL congressional election?

That's my question too.  They all appear to be blowouts.

DamnYankees: The AL congressional election?

Well, that's a primary, I thought.

The closest election that's anything remotely close to a big ticket is the VA Attorney General election between Herring and Obenshain.

It is a primary, but its the first real tea party v. establishment race since the shutdown. Granted, I don't know which is which, but its supposed to be something.

It's basically Bradley Byrne, the establishment Republican/business backed candidate versus Dean Young, the Tea Party candidate.

Last I saw, the polls showed that Young was ahead by anywhere from 3-5%.

Predictions:

McAuliffe by 5.5
Christie by 29
De Blasio by 34

The establishment hates gays and abortion and loves guns but the tea party hates gays and abortion and loves guns way more.  Like times infinity.  Its fairly simple.

According to exit polls, VA only blames the GOP over Obama re: the shutdown by a 49-43 margin. What the frack.

It's always tough to watch election returns in VA. Democrats have to wonder if a 60-40 early lead is too much to overcome from the Southern counties, and Republicans have to hope it's enough.

84/2541 precincts:

55/39 Cuccinelli
55/45 Jackson
61/39 Obenshain

And in Virginia's 33rd District, super awesome reason I became a lawyer Mary Costello Daniel v. tea party doo-doo head David LaRock.

Those margins don't matter. The msot useful thing is to compare the results from each country as they come out against how Obama did in 2012 - that will give you a useful idea of how McAuliffe is doing. HuffPo has a great interface for it here:

Yeah, I was looking at the past results from 2012 and the entire state was red except for 5 or 6  counties and a few cities. And that was enough to clinch the state for Obama.

Yup. America may be a place where we are repeatedly sodomized and forced to shiat in front of police without a valid warrant because our ass was scrunched up, but we also have this sort of good stuff!

The returns are coming in, and it's not looking good for the Ds. Here's hoping for higher than normal turnout. Turnout almost always favors the Ds.

I'm gonna go look up some local ballot stuff that nobody on Fark cares about.

Looking through sites to find one with more detail for more races.

Wandered to MSNBC.com for the first time in a long time. Holy shiatballs. WTF did they do to that site? It's a blob of semi scrolling mess.

That margin of victory compared to 2012 is the best election graph I have ever seen.  Is it new this year or was I looking at the wrong sites in the past?
