If you have nipplegall, you should probably see a doctor.

spray Sevin or a synthetic pyrethroid 5 to 10 feet out from the foundation of the house as well as up and down the foundation

Never did like the lady next door anyway.

The 'hundreds a day' millipedes sounds far worse than a little gnat type thing.

You don't know that.

A couple of nuisance bugs have been invading some houses in the Wichita area, extension agent Bob Neier said Monday.

The Extension Service has been fielding lots of calls about millipedes and hackberry nipplegall psyllids, Neier said. Neither one does any damage per se - one woman who was painting a room in her house did say the tiny psyllids were getting stuck in the paint - but they can be a pain.

Millipedes are worm-like creatures that are about 1 1/2 inches long - crunchy if you step on them and stinky if you touch them, Neier said. The moist weather has brought them on this year, he said.

Millipedes hang out in leaf litter and other organic matter in the yard and then try to come inside when the weather gets cold. "If you've ever lived with them you know how bad it can be," Neier said. "... You usually have hundreds a day when they come in."

Once inside the house, they die in a couple of days, he said. In the meantime, the best way to get rid of them is to vacuum them up and throw out the litter. And, to keep any more of them from coming in, spray Sevin or a synthetic pyrethroid 5 to 10 feet out from the foundation of the house as well as up and down the foundation, on the steps going up to the house, and around the doorway, Neier said.

The psyllids are gnat-like insects that can come into a house that is near a hackberry tree. They are small enough to come through window screens. "They are out on warm, sunny days," Neier said - whenever it's nice enough to have the windows open.

You can't spray for the psyllids, and they're not worth cutting down a tree over, Neier said. He advised the woman who was painting to wait a couple of weeks before returning to the job. That's when both nuisance pests should be gone.

I'm confused. Who said? Please Mr. article writer...TELL ME WHO'S TALKING!!!

Actually, I am.  There are psyllids stuck to the window screens at home.  Ones that squeeze through, or come through the door like to hover in front of my smartphone when I'm using it at night.

Saw a millipede run across the floor, too.  He took a cruise to Pooptown.

Millipedes in your nipplegall? It's more likely than you think!

When I first saw those things floating in the air  I thought someone was burning and the ash was blowing around. The outdoor furniture is black and is going to need a really good scrubbing. The plants are black and sticky and just plain gross.... but now I have a name for those things,so I feel much better.
 *sigh*
I'm too old for this.

I always wondered what those lumps on hackberry leaves were.

/used to have a hackberry tree in the front yard when I was little
//particularly big storm split it in half and put a hole in the roof of the garage and crushed a car

Hackberries are just big, overgrown wweds. Cut the out of the fence, they come back, but an old vet told me to dribble a little diesl on them, they don't come back. I just use a wood bit at an angle,  then dribble little diesel in. Kill 'em quick, they stay dead.

Weird, I was just looking at a tree labeled "hackberry" in my local park. Far as I can tell, it's the only labeled tree in the whole park. Last remnant of someone's Eagle Scout project, maybe.

Wow, that is what you got from that? Mysoginy and racism?  I guess an unflattering photograph of a politician or their spouse is now over the line.  Unless of course the politician is a republican, then it is OK, because it is not hipocrisy when WE do it.

We have a large hackbery tree next to the house. For years the neighbor wanted us to cut it down because of the bugs.
I said no.

I treated the tree with a systemic insecticide and it killed the bugs.

I still have half a barrel of 'Butt-Hurt' left.

You are more than welcome to pick it up.

Bring Sausage and Malaria with you. Just hose them down first.
