He voted against it because the medal is not actually made from gold any more.

What exactly does one find at the summit of Mount Everest?
Lots of poop, trash, and dead bodies. Well on the way to the summit anyway.

Biff_Steel: RON PAUL!

Wrong, dipshiat. No member of Congress voted against awarding the Medal of Honor to Rosa Parks, because the Medal of Honor is only available to military personnel acting within the capacity of military service. You must be proud of such stupidity to show it off so broadly.

Interestingly (to me at least), the first "Congressional" Gold Medal was awarded to George Washington in 1776. Numerous other Gold Medals were awarded prior to and immediately after the writing and ratification of the Constitution (the large majority of the participants in the Constitutional Convention were, or had been, members of the Congress of the Confederation, and I believe a majority of the participants would be members of at least one of the federal branches created by the new Constitution).

I never said i have a problem rewarding somebody with it, but it isn't mentioned in the constitution. Agree or disagree with Paul's politics, he is consistent.

Oh and to whatever idiot tried to connect this with racism. Give me a break. You know better.

A break huh?

Maybe subby could pull his head out long enough to realize:

1. It was a Congressional Gold Medal, not Medal of Honor.

2. There is no "Congressional" in it. It is just the Medal of Honor.

Or did someone say that already?

At least back then she could ride the bus in peace in quiet and had a seat. Now, if a white person gets on a bus they are attacked by vicious mobs of thugs or murdered.  You see it in the news every week. The racial violence against whites the past decade far surpasses anything that blacks faced in the early part of the 1900's and once again the Democrats are the party that leads the racist, then and now.
