"We've got far too many people who want to be problem-makers not problem-solvers in Washington," Byrne said at the debate, without the slightest hint of irony or self-awareness.

Fixed that for the author.

*facepalm* Just *once*, I want these asshats to have some sense of self-awareness. Just once. Is that too much to ask?

Uh, Byrne is the relatively sane establishment republican, who is saying he wants to go to Washington and work with democrats.

The insane tea partier with no self-awareness is Young, who said "There won't be a lot of bipartisanship unless they come over to our way of thinking"

Both sides are bad, but one is clearly less bad than the other.

We could begin a new era of American prosperity if we rounded up all the tea partiers and cast them into the sea.

Obama's Reptiloid Master: We could begin a new era of American prosperity if we rounded up all the tea partiers and cast them into the sea.

Yeah, it's called fascism.  Except we're already there.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

He meant "unipartisanship".  Simple pronunciation problem.  Overzealous prefix.

God, I could not campaign in Alerbammy. I'd just see what outrageous comments I could say and get away with. "Bring back eugenics", "Make human-hunting legal", "Floride is turning your kids gay", that sort of thing. Sadly, if I was running as a conservitive, the subretarded hicks who populate that hellhole of a state would probably take a break from sodomizing a pig to clap their grease coated hands in approval.

Wish I had known about this race earlier; would have liked to raised some cash for Dean Young; the GOP won't survive unless they go further right and become more pure in their thinking.

[Dean] Young, a Ted Cruz-style political novice, said he would never vote to raise the debt limit, bemoans bipartisanship and has suggested that President Obama was born in Kenya.

Serious Black, a perennial Fark Politics tab lurker, said he would shove his foot up Dean Young's ass.

This just in! Senator Roscoe says he will support the president's health care initiative for two concessions: pretending to throw a ball is now illegal, and all insurance plans must cover milk bones.

Oh please elect him.  Do it.  Do it you wimps.  Let him become another poster child so that every Democrat in the US in every election can point to him and say "a vote for Republican is a vote for this man and his policies."

As a moderate liberal, I'd rather a red state with reps capable of compromise for the benefit of America, than a blue state because the opposition is pants-on-head retarded.
