I'm going to guess that INTJs are disproportionately represented in a random sample of Farkers.

It's us INTJs who are making all the actual money for the ENTJs.  Manipulative sociopaths, all of them.

According to the Wikipedia article on this, ENTJs are "field marshalls" whereas INTJs are "masterminds", kinda makes sense. ENTJs are the Julius Caesars of the world, INTJs are the Augustus Caesars.

Actually, it has to do with Extroversion and Introversion more than anything.  Since the days of Carnegie, business has pushed for extroverted qualities and held them as the end-all-be-all.  They are the qualities pushed at Harvard, etc.  Unfortunately, those qualities are not always something you want to be pushing.

If you're curious about reading up on the topic, I would highly suggest Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain.  It's an excellent book that attempts to take the middle ground in the discussion, highlighting both the pros and cons of both types.

The perfect storm Fark thread would be one where people discussed the merits of their own personality type, its relation to their IQ score, and that correlation to their atheism as one coherent equation. I'm not sure it can be done, but it would be beautiful.

When I teach Personality Psychology, I cover the Myers-Briggs, mostly because it's something that students already have heard of and are interested in.  I wrap up my material by talking about why nobody should take the MBTI too seriously.

You are strangely hostile something that should not be taken seriously.

Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some racism and sexism. Baby, you've got a stew going.

Don't forget political affiliation.

I'd wager 110-120IQ alpha males are Repubs, 130-160IQ Introverts are Dems.

//fear me

I think you should shorten it too, 'no one should take it, ever.' It's internal and external validity are weak at best.

Not a surprise at all, we live in an ESTJ society so it isn't a shock that the two highest earners are extroverted judgers. They fit the social/cultural mode. The dominate female type in America is INFP and they make the least. Again, another huge shock there. In fact, if one had asked me to draw up a chart from scratch the ratios between the types would be basically the same.

Each of the qualities is on a scale so your not an E or an I but somewhere on the E/I spectrum.  Had to take team training once that involved Myers-Briggs and one of my co-workers scored dead center on all the spectrums. Neither and E nor an I and so forth.  It was fun watching corporate trainers dance around that one.

I'm ENTP but I went into finance to work on that "P" element. In other words, I trained to be a "J". The trick is to have creative outlets outside of work that allow for spontaneous creativity.

Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: But there is also reason for caution in drawing conclusions from this graph - or trusting the personality types too much in general.

Then why did you make the farking graph?

If Myers-Briggs's utility is oversold, its longevity has much to do with its appeal to Human Resources departments as a reassuringly scientific crutch easily amused people who spend too much time on the internet

Fixed.
