Better to scorch the earth than to fight for the 8 seed and a first-round sweep every year, I suppose. Plus we'll have extra seats around us in the balcony to put our coats on and put our feet up.

Not to mention the first pick in June.

I've never heard of half of these guys and the ones I do know are way past their prime.

G. Wallace: 27:33, 0-0 FGM-A

Shooting the ball, Crash.

Also, what the fark did Hump do that he isnt seeing ANY time on the floor?  A coaches decision "DNP" is really confusing to me.

It is okay, Boston fans.  Stay away and we will see you in a few years.

I guess they are only unknown if you don't follow college basketball. Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger are pretty well known.

I'm shocked that Sully was the second leading scorer for the Cs, despite coming off the bench. And he hit two threes.

Was Gerald Wallace participating in some kind of non-violent protest on the court last night? How is it possible for an NBA player to play nearly 28 minutes and not take a single shot?

They have yet to put together a complete game but they have looked good at times. Let's be honest, they dont have a PG on the floor right now.  Avery is a defensive SG, not a ball handler or play maker.

I am staying positive and enjoying watching some of these guys figure things out.

...if they can manage to get rid of him somehow....

Celtics should draft Aaron Craft. Then you'll see some magic. He may not be the best scoring PG, but damn is he a floor general in every sense of the phrase.

I just can't picture the team in a few years.  Are Rondo, Green, and (lottery pick - Julius Randle?) going to be the players that bring them deep into the playoffs?  Are Bradley, Sullinger, and Olnyk going to be part of that?  I'm not quite feeling it.

We are assuming Rondo is going to be traded this season?  I am not sure yet.

They have a ton of picks so you never know what you can turn that into.  You are right though, I am not sure who is going to be your go to, consistent scorer.  I dont see Green being that kind of player.  He can a cog in a championship team though, IMHO.

The thing about Craft is that he can exist in the backcourt with Rondo. Craft doesn't look to score himself, instead looking to make plays happen. That's his biggest potential in the Association.

When Shannon Scott comes on the floor for Ohio State, you see Craft move to the 2 and become the feeder instead of the point man.

I know I may sound like a huge homer, but I think a lot of people underestimate Craft immensely.

I will keep my eyes peeled this season.  Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder if this will be a worse team than the ML Carr coached teams. Either way, I think Ainge should be replaced and this should be a rebuilding year. He's lucky he got a Finals trophy right off the bat with the Big Three in 2008.

Why should Ainge be replaced?

Exactly.  He was hired in 2003.  Lot of people forget he was the one that did all the player drafting and trading to get the pieces of 08 together.  I think this rebuild should go a lot quicker as they are already this bad and they have been doing nothing but stockpiling picks.

I went my entire life enjoy Celtics ball when they weren't doing anything, still enjoyed watchin' um. They have a huge fanbase and the payroll to match it. You can count on them becoming a good basketball team.

I think we'll see it before the end of the season as Stevens figures out how to win games with he tools he has. Might be a long season for some of the guys who can't keep their attitudes in check, though.

He lost his confidence in his offensive game a while ago; I remember him talking about it sometime during his stay with the Nets.

I hate the idea of tanking (any team), but love the idea that they can get a quality squad together in a few years.  Between good draft picks and trading for quality players, they could be rebuilt in short time.  Just have to get the payroll down this winter.

Move Crawford for Pressly.  Move Humphrise/Wallace for payroll space.  When Rondo comec back, someone on the current starting 5 is out.  Nice watching you Wallace.
