Incognito seems like one of those people that come off as if they are completely unhinged at times. They try to play off their craziness like it's joke when they are openly threatening people, but hey it's a joke. What? Don't you have a sense of humor you giant f'ing puss? Can't take a joke? Wow. What a dick.

I'm all for suspending him long term, but do you really think the NFL is even going to try for a lifetime ban? The only people who have gotten lifetime bans either fixed games or had multiple drug arrests and issues, either PEDs or the run of the mill coke/weed/crack et al. The NFL has had multiple players who've killed someone in the league. Vick ran an interstate dog fighting ring. He signed with an NFL 3 weeks after he was released from jail. Pacman Jones missed a season after his bodyguard shot someone and left them paralyzed.

He's been extremely racist, something the new friendly NFL can't tolerate, and there are allegations he somehow "forced" Martin to pay for dinners (that cost tens of thousands of dollars) and trips to Vegas...so that could be some kind of extortion, fraud, IANAL. But felony "I will hurt you if you don't buy me stuff" with the N-word on top, against a teammate, may be enough.

If Incognito and the other veterans did intimidate the rookies into paying for food tabs and stuff, the Dolphins should look into reimbursing that money in some way. The one story about a rookie paying so much to the veteran players that he was almost broke is pretty sad.

The NFL won't ban him, but if the Dolphins waive him, like I suspect they will, I don't think he'll find a new home very easily. Teams may tolerate off the field behavior that only hurts the player, but when you're a cancer in the locker room or a distraction your days are numbered.

I might be wrong, but the new friendly NFL still probably considers killing someone or paralyzing a person to be more significant than Incognito did, which easily merits a year or two suspension. Like Mayoslather said, just let the teams deal with it like they handled Tebow. No one wanted him for many reasons, and he's still a free agent. Most teams won't touch him with a ten foot pole.

It is a form of bullying. If you are doing something that is someone else's will because you fear what will happen if you don't, it's bullying. The hazing of rookies is childish and there is no place for it. For every person that takes it in good fun, there is another that is deprived of dignity and self respect.

Obviously they are night and day. Tebow is a racist, mormon who threatens peoples lives. Incognito is a missionary champion of all that is good with offensive line play.

*rolls eyes*

Don't be obtuse. No one wants Tebow because 1) he sucks as a QB and 2) the whole parade of media attention that follows him. He's not worth the time or effort. It's going to be the same with Incognito.

Are you kidding?  If this guy is a commodity to a team (frankly, I don't know if he's that valuable or not), he will come back.

If Michael Vick, Kobe Bryant and Ray Lewis taught us anything (even though Incognito is not at the same level as them), it proves Tiger Woods being right....winning cures everything.

Again, he's not on the same level as those guys, but at the clip that ACLs are being torn, I wouldn't be surprised if he's back sooner than later.

But you can kiss his 2013 season goodbye, that's for sure.

Incognito is a better lineman that Martin. However the Dolphins line is complete trash, so no one will be too sad if they blow it all up and try with something new. Problem is, there aren't too many good OL players sitting at home waiting for a phone call.

I'm betting the Dolphins organization knew about this stuff all along, but kept quiet because Incognito is the better player. Now that it is a total PR nightmare, and something that might make free agents not want to play for the team, they have to act.

We will see if its "anger management and sensitivity training," or if its Cog being sent to waivers.

Two NFL teams have now admitted that he's an out of control cancer in the locker room.  Polian was just on ESPN explaining how the Colts had him on the do not draft list because of lack of character.  Undoubtedly, so did other teams.  Add in his new schtick as racist thug threatening violence against a black player and his family and no one is going to want Incognito even as a spectator in the stands.  By the time the NFL is done whitewashing this for the Dolphin management that stood by for 2 years and did nothing to stop the abuse, Incognito will be the poster child for racists who willingly threw their careers away just so they could revel in their race hate.  It's over for this thug.  lolol.

Who didn't know this guy was a big-time cheap shotting douchebag?  Glad to see him called out, hope he gets the treatment he has deserved for a long time.  This psycho couldn't even make it through 4 years at Nebraska, where you can pretty much get away with anything, particularly if you're not "from the city"

"Dolphins right guard Richie Incognito couldn't wait to talk about his recently burnished reputation as a dirty player, inviting the media over as soon as the locker room opened Friday.
A Sporting News poll of 103 NFL players released Thursday ranked Incognito No.2 among the NFL's dirty players, his 19 votes putting him solidly ahead of St. Louis cornerback Cortland Finnegan (14), but almost a lap behind Detroit defensive tackle Ndomuhkong Suh (32).
"I think I was at No.6 last year," Incognito said with a grin. "No personal fouls, no major penalties, no fines or anything like that and I move back up to No.2. It's a badge of honor for an offensive lineman to be up that high. "

Vick gambled on dogfights, lots of dogs died. That's a bunch of real crime. And he went to prison for it and is still paying off financial debts related to it. You want to take the guy's career away on top of it?

Kobe, what, cheated on his wife? So what. And then he was extorted with a rape claim that was dismissed from criminal courts...he had to pay her off and the wife, hell, he's the victim in all this.

Ray Lewis was present but not directly involved when friends of his were assaulted and the aggressors ended up dead, and it was ruled self-defense by the Georgia courts. So what, he shouldn't have been allowed to play football?

Incognito's on his third team, he's on the wrong side of 30, he's basically permanently poisoned his relations with vast quantities of any locker room he steps in, and any new team that takes him on will have a media circus to deal with and we know how well that always works out. Hate to break it to you - but that's Sevens.  Put him in a proper rugby game and he'd rarely have the open lanes required to get up to speed.

This is pathetic. If you ever played sports or were in the military, this is casual banter and conversation.

To the Nancy-outsider, yes it looks "bad", but it's all in good jest. Incognito was riding him and fawking with him and Martin couldn't take it. It HAPPENS, but Incognito should have seen that Martin couldn't handle it.
Hell, look at the text from Martin to Incognito--something like "Yeah, it's good. You're good, I just need a break."
The Dolphins need a scapegoat at this point and it'll be Incognito until he proves others were doing it as well.

Yep. I played softball in a military league and talk about overlap. Since it was BOTH military and sports, I got it 2 ways. Not only did I have to pay $30k for everyone's meals my first year, but also had to be on the receiving end of forced anal for the entire team after a loss (or win). It sounds extreme to an outsider, but forced anal is basically just a high five. And honestly, what's 8% of your annual salary for one meal between friends?

Seriously though, I lived on military bases and played sports my whole life. That is not casual banter. And being forced to pay for extravagant meals and trips against your will is more like casual extortion than banter.
