That show is awful.

OregonVet: That show is awful.

It really is. I watched one episode to give it a chance, and it looked painful for everyone on it. It was like no one wanted to be there. They were just reading lines from a script with nothing else behind it.

I know the two main reasons for watching it are Kat's boobs, but not even those can make it watchable.

Perhaps after the blond's ass, but yeah the show really is terrible.

I don't know, I mean I tried again most recently. I muted it, then turned up Dio on my phone while the show played.

It made for a much much better masturbatory experience.

There are only so many different ways to make a sexual innuendo joke before it starts getting painfully unfunny.  Seriously, I keep expecting Larry to stop by the Regal Beagle to engage in some wacky sexually-charged confusion and hijinks.

Thought the same thing, the delivery and comic timing or so bad.  I wouldn't be surprised if they were reading off a telprompter or cue cards.

I made it through season 1(with the wife), which had its moments, but that was about it. Haven't had the desire to go back.

Admittedly, I'm not much of a sitcom person anyway. If I'm going to sit down and watch TV, I prefer it be in hour long(read: 40 minute) increments. On Netflix(Cannot stand commercial breaks.)

2013-11-04 02:37:45 PM
I haven't seen a comedy show currently on ANY network that I've been able to sit through completely before changing the channel. I watch quite a few modern drama series however.

2013-11-04 02:38:54 PM
I like boobs, I like Jennifer Coolidge, I think Beth Behrs is extremely hot .... and I wouldn't sit through 2 minutes of "2 Broke Girls" on a dare.

For some reason, our tv was on CBS when that show was on the other day, and my 7 year old was at the kitchen table playing on an iPad and I positively cringed at his being exposed to that crap, even as background noise.  The idea that there is someone out there making fat coin as a "network executive" who thought this show could anchor a night of comedy tells me all I need to know about the future of network television, in specific, and this country, in general.

Any network? Including cable ones?

If you like fantasy football, The League is absolutely hilarious.

And honestly, one of the funniest shows right now (IMHO) is Impractical Jokers on TruTV. It's the only show worth watching on that channel. The situations they get put in are absolutely hilarious. It's one of the few shows that makes me cry laughing at times.

2013-11-04 02:47:29 PM
If a show has a laugh track, and was taped later than the year 1998, it is virtually unwatchable. If I hear a laugh track, I just change the channel.

I don't care how it's being delivered; It's a predictible set up / knock down sexual innuendo writing system, though some of the innuendo is more brash and more literal than other shows.  I'm typically a laugh track sitcom hater, and I don't know how some shows (Two and a Half Men?) last longer than others, but with the cast (it also has/or had Jennifer Coolidge and the propped up ghost of Garret Morris) I actually thought this one would do better than it seems to be doing.

I dunno, I liked Roseanne back in the day, and that 70's show. I just can't think of too many more modern sitcoms that are actually any good.

Agreed. Just finished watching this on Netflix per the recommendation of some Farkers. I understand why it didn't get the mass appeal network suits want, but I thought it was pretty solid comedy. JvdB was hysterical and Krysten Ritter (and the writers) did a great job of making Chloe both a biatch and a sympathetic character.

2 Broke Girls, on the other hand, is garbage. I've watched exactly one episode because a friend's brother-in-law had a bit part. I can't believe there are people that sit down each week to watch that show.

Well, if it was still the '70s I could see doing that.  But free internet porn is so much better.

Which makes the network executives even more incomprehensible.  They should know that hot actors with bad dialog won't work.

Don't know the actress' name, but she's from Happy Endings.  It took me a while to warm up to the characters, but it has some pretty sharp writing in it.

I am shocked that the hipster smug crowd on Fark don't like 2 broke girls. Despite the comments here, the show is a hit with 20-something females. Obviously I guess it's not enough to give CBS confidence in it, but it's still popular. My wife loves it, I see it every week. And it's not that bad. Every episode I find at least one genuine laugh from it. The guy who plays the eastern European pervert (can't remember his name offhand) has particularly good deliveries.

The girls do need some acting lessons, but if you don't take life too seriously, it's a fun watch.

Horrible show, but I have to admit that Kat delivering this line and the look on her face afterward made my pants fit funny.

2013-11-04 05:53:00 PM
I've watched episode since the premiere because, well, Kat Dennings. She's wonderful.

The blonde isn't bad either.

The setup of the show isn't bad either--basically it's Alice moved to Williamsburg, and has run down late-70's feel to it.

It's too bad that the writing is atrociously bad. So bad that they generally would be better off taking some old Alice scripts and switching the character names.

But that's pretty much the CBS system--put together a cast that is 5-10 times better than the scripts they are reading. (The secondary characters in 2 Broke Girls suck ass, but who knows how much of that is the actors' fault--based on the character, you'd think Jennifer Coolidge was terrible if you hadn't seen her in anything else.)

I'd love to see an episode that starts with Kat Denning's character getting whacked in the head, passing out, and waking up on the same set and with the same actors in a show that was competently written.
