And if you're wondering who the two Farkers are, it's myself and Uberchief.

Let us know what you think - we really have some fantastic content up for you all to enjoy. And if you want to get some of your work published, just let us know by sending us a submission.  http://emptysinkpublishing.com/submissions/

I got a couple of short stories I'd like to submit....but all the rules about submitting are too much hassle...

It's a necessary evil, I'm afraid. We had over 200 submissions last month, and there's no way we can manage that amount of content with out some formalization.

How long has this thing been up?  It's the first I've heard of it and my company already has it flagged as inappropriate content.
Which I am actually proud of you guys for.  I'd expect nothing less from farkers.
Like being drunk at 7am.

Fight the good fight!
BTW, I will be submitting a story about an alcoholic porn-addicted duck who owns a casino.
Publish it or I will tell everyone what your fark handle is.

I see you have spared no expense hiring a topnotch graphic design firm to invest hundreds of hours developing an award-winning custom template and design schema to give your venture a unique edge that catches people's interests, and avoid the unfortunate unprofessionalism of rolling out something that looks like you just unpacked Wordpress five minutes ago.

2013-11-04 12:49:06 PM
Looking forward to checking it out.  Do you accept photography submissions?  It's the closest thing I have to talent.

2013-11-04 12:52:24 PM
Anything in particular you're looking for by way of submissions? I might could send something along.

2013-11-04 01:01:13 PM
Looks good. You need to get yourself listed on Duotrope. There's a FB group, "Calls for Submissions (Poetry, Fiction, Art)" that's a good place to post general calls as well.

That's totally wrong. They actually spared several of their expenses, but did not use those savings to cover the cost of a top notch graphic design firm to invest hundreds (if not two) hours developing a custom template and scheme that could have probably won an award.

I'm beginning to suspect you are not a topnotch graphic design firm.

Yes we do! Just no pictures of old ear mold impressions, dog-chewed hearing aids or that sweet ball of cerumen you removed from that 90 year old's ear before you did your caloric irrigation. I've already seen enough of that. ;)

But seriously, we publish all forms of written and still image media. I'd love to see what you've got!

Thanks for the heads-up! We'll check out Duotrope, and I did not know about the FB group -- I'm in another FB writer's group with a bunch of Farkers, but we all know there's probably eleventy-jillion of them.

You can check out some of the things that we published this time around to get an idea, but for the most part, we're looking for anything that is written well but takes a different perspective from either a narrative or literary perspective.

Mr. Bungle at Work also really likes stories and poetry about dogs, for some reason.

Especially when the dog being written about is Uber's mom.

As someone who published and distributed a printed literary magazine for many years, good show.

I recognize some of the author's names from my misspent youth.

You guys may want to check out Factsheet 5.

if i write poetry about obama is that non-fiction, poetry, or mixed media

Is "web magazine" the new hipster term for a blog?

Congratulations and good luck. How about another call for submissions when the slush pile gets cut down to size a little bit?

abhorrent1: Is "web magazine" the new hipster term for a blog?

I had the same initial reaction - and while it looks and feels like a blog, it has multiple writers instead of just your emo crybaby neighbor who writes 10 entries in the first month and only uses it sparingly to post trivial yet creepy posts every now and again.
I can see the potential here.  This, to me, has more the feeling/potential of digging through independent writing to find that one writer or subject you really like.

/And if I happen to click on thepersonalgoddess's erotica submissions, it'll be purely by accident.

*Clicked on site.* Nope, that format is not a magazine, webagazine, or anything similar. That is blog space, pure and simple.
