I've seen this one. He gets married, starts singing "What'd I Say" by Ray Charles, and has a heart attack at his own reception. This his borderline-incompetent son has to take over Toronto with David Spade as a sidekick.

The single greatest nugget of derp that is going overlooked in all of this was from the guy who called into Ford's radio show proclaiming that Police Chief Bill Blair is the real criminal here, because he wasted taxpayer dollars to have the police follow Rob Ford.

I have a suspicion that having to decide between spending one's income on crack or food is also a factor in why so many crackheads are skinny.  Rob Ford comes from a lot of money so he doesn't have to make an either/or choice between the two, like most other crac afficionados.

The thing about it is that regular users tend to be real slim because every dollar goes to the habit.

Whatever Rob Fords habit is Im sure he can afford it, and some dinner afterwards.

Police:  We have video evidence that Rob Ford smoked crack cocaine.

Ford:  Can you release the video so I can address the allegations?

Police:  Oh sorry about that, we aren't allowed to release the video.  We are apparently allowed to hold press conferences to tell the media it exists though.

Rob Ford may be guilty as sin, but him being convicted in the court of public opinion without having even been CHARGED is absolute bullshiat.

FTFY

Police:  We have video evidence that is consistent with what has been reported in the media (Star/Gawker).  This video forms the basis of an additional charge of extortion against Mayor Ford's BFF Sandro Lisi.  We've also got a ton or surveillance of the two of them at all hours of the day, drinking/pissing in public, and engaging in totally sketchy drug deal-like behavious.  Mayor Ford has not been charged with anything at this time, but we'd really, really like to sit down and talk with him about some other stuff.

Ford(and Lawyer):  Well even though we totally told you guys that there was no video, it turns out that there is.  But even so you guys totally can't tell what's being smoked in that crack pipe...It could be tobacco, or even marijuana...anything at all but crack.  It's not crack is what we're saying.  And hey, even though this video is now evidence against Sandro and in the hands of the Crown Attorney you should totally release it so I know what I'm up against.

Police:  Uhhhh...Did you hear what you just said?  It's in the hands of the crown attorney.  Go away cracker!

Apparently if you are an infrequent user with money for food you can get fat. Basically your blood sugar crashes when the high wears off, causing you to binge eat. Most crack addicts can't afford food so they usually pass out.

costermonger: he wasted taxpayer dollars to have the police follow Rob Ford.

To me that's the funniest part of this whole exercise.

The police weren't following Rob Ford.  Rob Ford inserted himself into an active investigation of crack dealers on Dixon (or was it Dixie?) Road.  All of the ensuing fallout and investigations of Lisi and Ford were because of the fact that the crack house was being watched and the surveillance people had a "holy shiat, that's the mayor!" moment.

There's surveillance pictures of the Toronto Star reporter sitting in her car watching the video on a phone with the crack dealer sitting next to her.  This whole drama was being watched by the cops long before the Star and Gawker found out about the video.

So what's Ford and Lisi's relationship to the dead guy?  Was he killed because of the video?  What's Ford's role in Lisi going out to kick some ass to find the video?  Does anyone believe that Lisi was operating on his own accord in that respect?  Or ever?  Seeing as Lisi is Ford's go-to black-bag guy it seems reasonable to assume that anything illegal (ie: the extortion for which he's currently been charged) was done at the request of the Ford Bros.

There's still a lot of questions to be answered but unless you're some retard "Ford Nation" mouthbreather from Etobicoke (but I repeat myself....) none of the answers are likely going to be flattering for Mayor McCrack.

The guy's populatiry actually got something like a 5% bump on Friday I think, according to Ipsos-Reid polling I heard over the weekend anyway. There has to be a really large population of absolute morons in the GTA. Regardless of the crack and ongoing criminal investigations he may be tangled up in, the guy is a loud mouthed obnoxious drunk who makes a complete ass of himself in public constantly. That should be embarrassing enough for most people not to vote for him as a mayor.

Would Stevie even want him?  The riding he'd run in is so ignorant they'd probably elect anyone who's name was written in white letters on a blue background.  Does a scandal-prone PMO need a scandal-prone back-bencher in a riding where they wouldn't have much trouble electing someone without the Ford taint?

I'm sure there are more than a few people who want people to think that Lisi was acting on his own, but outside of his Etobicoke base most people (who are paying attention) seem to think there's about 0% chance that Lisi was acting out of the goodness (evilness?) of his own heart and just doing Ford a solid without his knowledge.

Whether this means a damn thing come election time remains to be seen, since Ford's electorate was already made up of the Etobicoke mouthbreaters and those people that pay very little attention to the goings on at City Hall. All he needs to do to collect a big raft of votes is promies to hold the spendy-liberals accountable. While it will undoubtedly be an entertaining election to watch as a non-Torontonian, I don't think the collective hatred of the entire Toronto media is going to hurt Ford all that much.

Perhaps.  Provincially, the Tories have a good chance of seeing the Liberal vote split to the NDP.  Hopefully we don't end up with a solid conservative majority based on them getting a third or so of the popular vote.

Glenford: If you think that's shudder worthy, consider the suggestion that the second video is a RoFo sex tape.

I have considered that but honestly, judging by the man's girth, it's probably more like a game of whack a mole where the nothing is tall enough to come out of the hole.  It'll probably have the least amount of visible genitalia of any sex tape ever made.

Didn't Doug want to run in the Etobicoke provincial by-election and PC leader Tim Hudak wisely chose the deputy mayor at the time Doug Holyday instead? I think Doug's political ambitions are on hold for a long time now. Hell, Adam Giambrone is still in the dog house voter wise and the only thing he did was get a little non-fiance action on his office couch.

Hearing an additional new rumor today: There's a 2nd video and it puts Mayor Ford in the same category as former US Senator Larry Craig (closeted conservative homophobes). No confirmation, but if true would be devastation to his popularity with his base (although I personally wouldn't care).

Makes sense... because there's obviously a demand from commuters, don't bother bolstering infrastructure to accommodate it.  Instead build a subway line no one needs.

At this rate, within our grandchildren's lifetime there isn't going to be any feasible way to get into Toronto from the north.

On the contrary---Doug was apparently planning to ride Rob's coattails all the way to the leadership of the PC Party of Ontario. Hudak is probably relieved Doug's plan is backfiring this horribly, though he'll never admit that in public.
