Ronin_S: I thought it was spelled 'narc'.

Came here to point that out.

/Short for "undercover narcotics officer"

Maybe he was narcoleptic, and someone made light of that whilst he was passed out.

Sometimes it isn't necessary to arrest every nut who pretends to be a cop, as the other criminals will take care of it.

All I can say is thank God for Google Maps. Without them I'd have no idea what the story is about.

That's one of the interesting impacts of undercover informants. They increase paranoia in people who are already really paranoid, like those in the meth game. People ratchet up their distrust and get increasingly violent, based only on those paranoid delusions, even if they're not even dealing with an actual informant.

If there was less stigma associated with admitting a problem and getting help, maybe more people could escape the cyclical nightmare. I don't know what the end game is, but if people could come around to "He's trying to improve his life, I'll give him a chance" rather than "Those ex-dope-fiends are all alike and I'll make sure to bad mouth a recovering addict at every opportunity." things could dramatically improve for some people.

There is a way out, but society has a hard time believing that people can actually change.

" .. treated for non-life threatening injuries .."

So, what about the life threatening injuries? Getting carved up and having a badge jammed into your person seems pretty life threatening to me ..

Oh. Bronze Plan. ObamaCare.

I wonder if he will tell the police who did this to him.

I hope he does. No one should live in fear for doing whats right.

Narc is spelled with a "c". It is short for Narcotics Officer. Get a Brain, Moran.

Then again, JonnyBGoode's "Narf!" theory is also cromulent. I'd be interested to know what circumstances might lead a Moran to carve Narf! into some guy's chest.

And is there somebody out there with Zort! carved into their chest? Possibly a suspected member of the Zombie Outbreak Response Team.

Most people using the term wouldn't have a clue where it comes from, let alone how to spell it.
