Cultural fail for the first one : it's a reference to the cross of Saint George, and is often used in body paint at English sport events. That's NOT a reference to Christianity.

And how on Earth is a picture showing a white kid and a black kid hugging each other is innappropriate ?

I thought the same thing. The first one is: "Oh, it's going to be one those lists of things no one finds really offensive, just a few that a few took offense to."

And then you see the rest.

The black kid's hair is made up to look like devil's horns.  I suspect that is what they were on about (quite
rightly, too, I think).

Bless your heart, though it also looks a bit like Puma Swede.

Oh yeah, that makes sense, I guess. My bad. Especially considering the angelic look of the white kid.

Exactly my thoughts.  I laughed very hard at the Energizer one.

It took me a minute to see the problem with that one. I think it has to do with the black girl's hair being done up to look like horns (although she looks more like Batman to me.)

I don't see what's inappropriate about the condom ad.. oh, sure, her cooch is a destination ala google maps, but so what? She's not a nun or something I'm missing right? I'd take no offence to seeing a similar advert pointing to some guy's junk or butt. Unsafe sex can kill you, this is the message that needs to register with people.

I remember the Love Cosmetics ad from the late '70s
