CBS has always been the network of journalistic integrity.

Remember their exclusive with Bush and his National Guard release papers?

2013-11-04 07:51:05 AM
So the Mary Sue story of the guy taking on thousands of angry rioters single-handedly armed with nothing but a rifle, a Bible and a picture of Sarah Palin giving Ronald Reagan a Peruvian Otter Squat doesn't check out? Astonished. Astonished and flabbergasted, am I.

2013-11-04 07:51:36 AM
Thus further helping to discredit the conspiracy nuts. I see what you did there, CBS

2013-11-04 07:56:39 AM
Well, at least they addressed these issues at the end of last night's episode rather than pat themselves on the dick by reading fan mail... oh wait

So is it a scandal yet?

Before people get too excited without RTFA Davies is saying he lied on his report to his employers and told the truth to 60 Minutes. He isn't recanting.

Still, it seems like a terrible idea for 60 Minutes to go public with this story when all they have is this guy's word. Even in this article he both says he lied to his supervisor and that he never saw the report thst contains the lies he said he told his supervisor.

They're really trying to milk this tragedy for all they can.

skinink: They're really trying to milk this tragedy for all they can.

They've gone far beyond milking, they're trying to churn it into butter at this point.  I always try to understand all sides, but I really can't see where they expect to go with this one.  Seems to me the proper response is "Fark, that sucks.  Guess we should re-evaluate our embassy security protocol" and that's pretty much it.

"Who gives a damn about what really happened? I'm trying to sell some books to Teatards!"

It doesn't matter, really. Facts and truth parted ways with the Teatards in 2008.

Let me see here: He either went all Rambo at that embassy while it was under attack or he was safely practicing armpit parts in a seaside villa. Hmmm.

Now he'll get to be a persecuted martyr. He claims the lie was to his supervisor on the report, not what he said to 60 Minutes. The report was released by the state department to smear him. He's a little guy, these are big people. They can do anything. They're out to get him.

If you make it so easy for them to just release the report, then its hard to argue you're being persecuted.

He probably thought the bullshiat report would remain classified. He didn't think that they would acknowledge that they ordered the security contractor to stand down.

Wait until they release the recorded phone conversation, where the Ambassador is begging and pleading for aid, and Obama just laughs and laughs and laughs, because he hates freedom.

If you look it up on Urban Dictionary, it's a definition that somebody made up after the fact just for the sake of doing it. The genesis of that phrase was from Episode 3 ("Blood Money") of Action!, and the Wendy character says it around 10:50 or so

With no Obamacare, they can never be death paneled. These people are immortal thanks to the ACA.

I'm surprised they didn't out the source. I wouldn't think they would have any qualms about revealing someone who lied to them, unless they feel strongly that the source believed the papers were real.
