I keep telling my brother it is a kid's show.

And technically Wall-E and the Toy Story movies were meant for kids, but they appeal to adults as well.

She's more man than all 11 Doctors put together. Go get 'em, Time Lady. Watch out for Angels. . . literally.

I'm pretty sure it counts as child abuse in most places to make your toddler dress as Colin Baker's Doctor.

Mini-Tom Baker more than makes up for it.

I'm not positive but I have a strong suspicion that her parents are actually the ones who dressed her that way.

Don't force somebody to haul out that C.S. Lewis quote.

I thought more than one Doctor wore a scarf.  It's a travesty that the rebirths seem to prefer bow ties.

....Little girl made by parents to dress up as 11 Doctors.  I'd be concerned.

Her parents are probably Asian and adopted her.

"You be Doctor when you grow up. Make family proud!"

Still not as cool (or cute) as the dad that made his little girl a Voltron costume

I don't watch the show so I'm asking this seriously:

Why did he used to dress almost like a clown?  With the multi-colored pants, and what not?  Seems they've drifted away from it but was there a reason other than "It was the 60s/70s"?

Nope. The writers thought it added a flair of mystery. Well that and the old show had a very low budget.

Bow ties are cool.

(Actually Matt Smith's Doctor is the only one who does bow ties)

Keep in mind, my daughter has been watching since she was 21/2 or 4, and she started watching on her own. Something she was watching got over, she came in to sit with us, and started requesting the show on her own.

But you're right, kids have no clue what they're doing ever, so they can't have their own likes and dislikes.

Tyrone Slothrop: I thought it was going to be all 11 Doctors at the same time.

Me too, I was picturing a costume with her dressed as one Dr, with the others being dummies out to either side. This was cooler...

11? In a row?

More like "Parents dress up their daughter into their personal Dr Who fantasies". Kind of as creepy as those who trollup up their kids for toddler beauty pageants, imo.

Well, if you ignore the fact that Pat Troughton wore one ...

Why? Does he have some kind of memory loss?  You told him once, now get on with your life.  You do have your own life, right?

In St. Louis we have this (apparently) bizarre tradition of making kids who visit your door tell you a joke before you give them any candy. (I think I was 12 or 13 before I found out this wasn't done everywhere.)

Anyway, handing out treats, we ask a group for a joke. A kid dressed as one of the doctors says "I've got one"

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Doctor.
Doctor Who?
THAT'S ME!
(flourish and jazz hands.)

We'd been drinking, but nearly pissed ourselves laughing. Is that from the show? Seems pretty obvious, but I don't watch it.

/it may have been his enthusiastic jazz hands

True.  I was assuming that "the rebirths" meant only NuWho.

Because that's something adults do, worry about what other adults do with their time.

From memory it was something like:
The actor's wife had started banging the producer and the (ex-)wife and producer tried to have him replaced as soon as possible by ruining his incarnation.
Their relationship apparently got bad enough that Baker didn't come back for the regeneration scene, so the 6 -> 7 regeneration happens without showing the face of #6 and is triggered by the Doctor banging his head against the TARDIS consolde during the crash.
IIRC that's also while the TV's #6 is written a lot more douchey and asshole-ish than he's in e.g. the audio plays where Baker and the writers were allowed to tone things down and create a more likable version of the character.

My apologies, I meant everyone after William Hartnell.  Why must the regeneration process be so flawed?

What ? No Peter Cushing ?
