Whoa.  Weird.  That's where I graduated from college.  That town has one blinking light ... watching it is the only source of entertainment.  Still loved the place though ... cool to see them in the news.

So...when did the coaches get filled in?  someone had to approve the lineup change and putting him in for the play.

That was better than most of the onion, dust threads here. The team seems to really care for he guy, not just
an attention grab or hand out type thing for the LD guy.
Cool for everyone involved.

I don't care about football, but that got some tears rollin.  We've all seen the special kids in high school get picked on, good on them for flipping it around

THIS. They didn't have the other team lie down to let the kid score. Better yet, it seems to have changed some of the players' attitudes in fundamental ways, building their character in ways that will serve them all well in life.

Absolutely. They are learning a lot about themselves as they mature into adulthood.

Don't bother to read the comments on the page.  Your new found or recharged faith in humanity will be reversed.

For every courageous act, there are thousands of acts of cowardice.

OK, I have to give props to this. I'm sick of those stories where some high school team has everyone stand off by the sidelines while the "special" kid walks unimpeded into the endzone. These kids found a way to get him a real touchdown that he earned. Bravo.

Nice. Good job, kids.

This.
No adults set this up, there was no lets make announcements and a special uniform as the kid was already on the team.  It is nice to see kids get how special it is to be around an autistic kid.

Of course not all autistic kids are sweet like this kid and it can be a challenge for the kid to back off or others to adjust to random hugs when personal space is important.  However, as per article, when the football team thinks you are cool, you are cool.

Any truth to the rumor that the Jags just signed Keith to a three year deal?

That was cool.  What a great group of kids...
