Cripes. How much does a statue have to drink to get to the point where it just wanders out into traffic?

My big brother used to take pictures the morning after firefights in Vietnam, showing all the VC they killed, bodies ripped up, pink froth spilling out...used to smuggle the Polaroids in his uniform pocket when he visited us in the Philippines on R&R, used to show them to me. As a 10 year old boy, I thought it was the coolest thing EVAR, until this story.

Didn't know who he was so the to the googles I went.  Apart from being a career politician he apparently wrote a few books on the topic of Christian Apologetics, how very Canadian.

There really wasn't much else to do in Upper Canada before the internet.

Can't really see the statue, but the hood ornament on the car sure took a hit.

Dang, beat me to it.  I had a teacher who used Farley Mowat as the name in story problems at least once in every exam.

Well, it's not like he even bothered to get out of the way.  He just stood there like a... well, you know.

"Police are investigating"

The car hit the statue and it fell over. Case closed! I'm a private consultant, you'll receive my bill.

That was what I came in here to find out.  My father was a Mowat fan, so I read a bunch of his books when I was a kid.  Oddly, I never read Never Cry Wolf.

Robert Poopsmith: Canadians are made of metal?

Metal, maple syrup, glaciers, seal blubber, hash, and bitumenous sand.

Hmph. Would have been safer in a cabinet with Chandon.

Mayor McCrack seen trotting away and avoids the law yet again.

/I wish people had to get their 'suv driving test', to learn how to handles curves.
//Still funny when they crash though.

We use a lot of bronzer, 'cause it's dark.

I'm sorry, I can't help but laugh. He doesn't look so badly off in the 3rd pic though - I am sure he is repairable.

This crap belongs on Liveleak, not here.

No, no, no, it's not Mowat, it's Moet! Nice Queen reference, though.
