Seems reasonable.  You pay attention for foul balls and broken bats, not mascot wieners.

Where does apple pie figure into all this?

There's a Paris Hilton (or the relevant dum cumpster of the time) joke somewhere to be had here.

Baseball is not supposed to be a three-ring circus. I go to a baseball game to see baseball, not a freakin' pageant about baseball. Lose the mascots, the sausage races and the pseudo-patriotic songs between innings. The stupid games are almost unwatchable anymore.

Agreed.  You can't really have baseball without the risk of getting hit in the face with a ball.  There is not one reason you can't have baseball without the risk of taking a mascot wiener to the eye.

Rooting for the guy.  The sideshow bullshiat at any sporting event is unbearable, maybe this will curb that.

Simply the greatest hot dog throw I ever saw occurred at the last Opening Day at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in April of 1993.  The occasion was pretty solemn after the Spring Training boating accident had killed 2 players, but eventually things returned to their normal level of idiocy.  Sitting in the bleachers, I saw a man Sky Hook a hot dog loaded with ketchup and mustard across the ramp and into the main grandstand's lower deck where it landed condiments down and stuck to the side of a guy's neck.

You're welcome, I have many more cool stories, bro.

I used to be a baseballer like you, then I took a wiener in the eye.
