FTFA: Wright helped run a prostitution operation out of her Kennebunk Zumba studio, where she secretly captured encounters with clients on video so that Thomaston-based business partner Mark Strong could watch remotely.

Riiiiiiight. So she was distributing pornographic images of other people without their permission, and now she's all upset because people are distributing pornographic images of her without her permission.

Yeah, it does really farking suck, and until something is created to combat this problem, we are all SOL.

Something has already been created to combat the problem . It's called "don't post videos online that you don't want the world to see". Also "don't make videos of yourself doing illegal stuff". Also "don't do illegal stuff".

cman: She released pornographic videos of people who knew they were being filmed

The articles says those were secret recordings, implying that the clients did not know at the time. They were distributed--remotely to someone who watched them. That was their purpose. So yes, as said before, she was distributing pornographic images of other people without their permission, and now she's all upset because people are distributing pornographic images of her without her permission. Fark her. Don't give a shiat. She has no reasonable biatch about this.

I deal with this shiat at work.

Not Zumba, not prostitutes. Rather the idea that you can remove information which has been publicly available.

It's bullshiat. You can't do it. The Chinese have it, the Russians have it. The pron sites have it, it's being seeded in a torrent, etc.

It's out there, man. It's gone. It's plastered on every billboard. Children go to night tucked into bed with blankets with your info printed on it. The terrorists have it. The druglords have it. You want to remove it from my site, and you think that's the only thing that matters? Grow the fark up.

The idea that you can remove anything from the public eye is fundamentally wrong. Whether it was rightly or wrongly put there in the first place is irrelevant. It. Can't. Be. Done.

Assuming the problem you're referring to is the posting of embarrassing images online with no way to remove them: Possibly create an online, self-replicating virus that contains data about your image (face, body dimensions, clothing, background, etc) in all common formats (jpg, bmp, gif, etc).  The virus is then launched, going across the net looking for image files that match the parameters in the virus.  Once located, the virus either blocks portions of the image, deletes the image, or reports the IP address to a designated server for follow-up action.

or until we realize that discretion is the better part of wisdom, we are all SOL.

I know that not every embarrassing upload can be prevented, but people can sure as hell cut down on the many regrettable choices they make that end up on the Internet.

Don't want a vengeful ex to post nekkid pix of you for the world to see? Don't let nekkid pix get into his hands to begin with, even before he's a vengeful ex. Or, alternatively,m develop a really thick skin and stop caring what people think about you.

I believe that everyone has a right to leave society, just like everyone should have a right to leave the internet

I'm not following your logic. You can't "leave society" without leaving a record of what you did while you were there.
