Lunger42: pedobearapproved: aerojockey: So Cal Fark Party at each and every one of them

don't give people any ideas, I have yet to see a Fark Party in the actual city of San Diego.

THere was one at Comic Con. These kind of headlines make me happy to be in SoCal area. :)

Hold on to that, that's about all you get. I'm can't stand the place. The entire $#!+hole can sink into the Pacific Ocean for all I care. I'll send you a rubber dingy mom, sis, and bro.

Vangor: hops.

It's the hops I don't like.

I have a superpowered sweet tooth, and I'm usually out of there at the first sign of sour/bitterness.

// yes I have two different types of sambuca

// that bottle of absolut vanilla is from a party 2 years ago, someone brought it, then left it, and now it sits in my cabinet collecting cobwebs.

One day, maybe the red states will catch up to the blue ones regarding microbrews.

One day.

// Fark you shiatty beer red states.

Missourah is a red state and they got some damn fine beer. MO by itself curbstomps the mid-Atlantic region for beer. I have high hopes for Bluejacket, though.

Colorado is one of the best craft brew states in the country and that is usually a red state.  Florida has Cigar City and Saint Somewhere.  Indiana has Three Floyds.  Utah has Epic and Uinta.  Sweetwater and Terrapin in Georgia.  Abita in Louisiana.  Iowa's Toppling Goliath has off the chart ratings.

At this point I think it's pretty much a self perpetuating myth. Yes, there are a lot of hippy beers available, but there are also a ton of not-hoppy beers being brewed in craft breweries all over.

Don't focus on the ones you don't like, focus on the ones you do.

Exactly.  The only problem I have is most of guys I hang out with are hopheads.  Past a certain IBU, it becomes too overwhelming (and that IBU varies.)  I'm the token Belgian fan of the group and the also only one that seems to really appreciate stouts and porters.

The Mid-Atlantic has Dogfish Head, Victory, and Flying Dog which are great, plus a bunch of others I'm sure.  While they don't distribute, Iron Hill Brewery has a bunch of brewpubs in Delaware, PA, and NJ, and their beer is top notch.

The problem with going to those places though is that the food is terrible.  Stone brewery has awesome beer, a kick ass atmosphere, the tours are cool, and they have really nice servers/ staff / event specialists.  The food though is overpriced, almost certainly made by line cooks and there are only like 5 things on the menu anyways.  It's fun going there, but they really need to work on that

Quantity does not always equal quality, but lots of competition does.

Sounds like a stop worth making.
