(Politico)   The reason Bill Kristol left Fox news is because he had too much integrity to smear someone Roger Ailes ordered him to. Marking the first time the words "Kristol" and "integrity" have been used together without the phrase "complete lack of"   (politico.com) divider line 49

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, ok.

Without more than a claim that it was to discredit "someone," I'll reserve judgement on this one.

No, that's what they serve the viewers, not the on-air personnel...

Sure. It was TWO YEARS LATER. Way to take a stand, Bill...

When the U.S. invaded Afghanistan Mr. Kristol was young enough to.serve. Wonder why he didn't volunteer.

The RIchest Man in Babylon: I wonder who it was.  Thoughts, farkers?

It was himself. Part of the FOX News training is to unload on any target they choose*. Kristol passed the "denounce your wife and ancestors as RINOs" part of the test, he did great on the "throw your kids under the bus for a better time slot" portion, and he was willing to commit character assassination on his dog on camera, but he sweated too much when they asked him to accuse himself on air of being a puppet of Emmanuel Goldstein George Soros and knew it was time to go.

*well, not Reagan, obvs

Great now I have visions of Cadres of Fox News Interns waving copies of Roger Ailes' "Little red book" storming the offices of various Fox News employees and demanding they participate in "self-criticism sessions"

Well, at least we know how Ailes operates. It doesn't surprise me at all.

I wonder how much cock Hannity has to suck to stay on the air?

I wonder if in some sort of twisted mind game/power play, he was asked to discredit Bill Kristol and he just couldn't do that to himself (you know... on purpose. He discredits himself constantly but that's unintentional on his part).

It will never happen but I would love for Kristol to just spill the beans about who Ailles wanted to attack.

But this does further prove that Fox is not a news channel but is run like a high school.  Ailles is the head chearleader spreading rumors about the new freshman girl he doesn't like and getting all the other cheerleaders to do the same even though they might actually like the girl.

Well, we've seen that Bill Kristol is wrong about pretty much everything. So if he didn't want to smear someone it's because that person is a real piece of shiat who should be smeared. I'm going with either Dick Cheney or Jerry Sandusky.

Bill Kristol is pretty much everything that's wrong with American Conservatism right now, and I'm sad that his father lived long enough to watch it happen.

/Did not agree with the man, but I respected him.

I need to know: could this be bad news for Obama?...

Kristol refused to get involved in Ailes' personal arguments

Few things are more annoying than someone trying to recruit you to go tilt at their personal windmills.

Just want to make that observation. I have no strong opinion on TFA.

My bet is Sarah Palin.  Kristol was all over her (metaphorically) when McCain plucked her from obscurity.  With that shiat-eating gash of a mouth, he wants to all over her (not metaphorically).

Ailes wants to distance his channel from the be-lipsticked pitbull, Kristol still likes his chances.  Todd can watch.

The 75th anniversary of Kristolnacht is coming up next week.

2013-11-01 04:10:01 PM
I'm guessing that Kristol didn't want to badmouth a Republican who's hawkish on defense but moderate on other issues, e.g. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, or Marco Rubio.

All three have run afoul of the GOP grassroots for pushing immigration reform, but Kristol wouldn't want them to be primaried because they're such reliable votes for war.

Bill Kristol was as responsible as anyone for promoting Sarah Palin as someone worthy of being vice president.  If it hadn't been for the drooling accolades from a handful of people, of which he was the most prominent, she never would have seen the light of day.

I.e., he's a gibbering moron who mistakes a rack for a brain, but to add insult to injury, he puffs himself up as some kind of intellectual, a seer, a guru, looking far out into the distance, but in fact, gibbering moron.

2013-11-01 04:57:59 PM
Bill Kristol still remains one of the creepiest would-be social engineers ever to surface publicly.

Big money, big pockets, big plans for everyone.

Quoting Bill Clinton in another article...."two dicks"  How many Hannity has to suck

Would not be surprised if Kristol left because he did not want to slam another conservative...Ailes and Murdoch have been going leftward in recent years...They didnt put Megyn Kelly in prime time because they wanted to bust bed springs with her...

Can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding~

I came here to make a joke about how Kristol's dad wasn't so bad, but then I went back and read the journal articles and remembered, oh, wait, yeah he farking was.

2013-11-02 06:10:18 PM
Indeed, Kristol has become a coveted free agent since leaving Fox News. He has made multiple appearances on ABC's "This Week" (where he was a panelist in the 1990s) and NBC's "Meet The Press" (he will join the roundtable again this Sunday). He has also made multiple appearances on CNN's "Crossfire" and on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

He was like a virus on FOX, virulent but contained. Now ...not so much. Sad to see.

The fact that Bill Kristol is still taken seriously as a pundit by anyone in the media after years of being wrong about practically everything is beyond fathoming.

2013-11-02 08:29:29 PM
Kristol's departure, which he announced in August, was due to a number of factors

Don't bother reading the entire article before you write the headline.

That farks up the entire narrative.
