Hacker_X: And they didn't leave the tunnel "undiscovered" why? Seriously. Just monitor it, wait for a complete shipment to come through, follow it, then seize it. Let the guys responsible for losing the drugs go back through the tunnel. They will be dealt with and we don't have to pay for prosecuting them or housing them in jail. Do it all right and you might be able to seize several big shipments before they wise up that the tunnel is monitored AND you can track down and dismantle a few distribution points. Then when they finally stop using it just set a few charges to collapse it and repeat the process with the next one they dig.

You make it sound like the DEA would like to actually win the war on drugs or something.

Win the war, loose the job.

In other business news, the Sinaloa Drug Cartel reported lower than expected earnings this quarter due to a major drug tunnel being discovered.
"We are saddend by the news of our state-of-the-art drug transfer system being compromised but we are looking to the next quarter with hopes of recovery.  Our product is still in high demands and we have other means of transporting our products to our consumers."  said CEO of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel, Boss X.

"We we'll be offsetting some profits in the next quarter as we exact revenge on those who narced on us.  Bullets and machetes are not cheap."

Sinaloa Drug Cartel closed 5% down on the Underground Profiteering Network yesterday.

It's in their contract. Build a better tunnel and give away the old one. Makes it look like the DEA is doing something besides jerking off.
