Second oldest profession at least, Subby. I mean, if you're going to trade sex for fish or whatnot, then fisherman has to be the older profession.

But those jobs are hard!

I think I'd rather continue blogging about the gender pay gap.

Structural steel and welding trades workers
Men $1653.30
Women $2156.50 (30 per cent more)

This is especially true in the shipbuilding industry.

I'm sure there will be laws proposed so that these fields subsidize men's pay

Women tend to earn more than men, if they don't have kids.

But it is assumed that women will eventually have kids, even if they don't, and accordingly starting salaries and training and promotion opportunities are lower.

Headline actually makes me curious about the average income for male v. female prostitutes.  Obviously, there are fewer male prostitutes, but do they get paid more or less?

I'm asking for, um, a friend.

Wait a second....

But if women earn more at some job, that means it is SEXISM.  That is the only answer.  Because, if men earn more, well, THAT is SEXISM, right?

Oh I see, it only goes one way.  Cool.

Also curious; it's not obvious that women hoes outearn their male colleagues. There may be mean/median issues there too - it wouldn't surprise me to find that the lowest-earning hoes (Assistant Crack Whore?) are mostly female.

I am also curious as to the WHY there is disparity.  When men earn more than women it is because sexism/old boys club exclusions/etc.   But what are the reasons for when it is reversed?

Is it diversity quotas?  In order to have a female on staff you need to pay more to attract them to the profession?  Are they comparing positions or fields?  If you are a construction company and your management and up are say 50/50 Male/Female ratio but your laborers are mostly men, then lumping all those "construction" jobs could throw the average up for females (assuming managers/sales/accountants/etc make more than laborers)

There may be more housekeeping businesses with female CEO's/ Owners, if their salaries are considered, it could look like woman make more then men.

But just keep in mind: If you pay a prostitute for sex, she is still not obligated to have sex with you and may just keep the money.

I'm pretty sure they earn more, and the majority of their clients are not female.

Which is why you compromise and put the money on the dresser.  If she tries to take it before services rendered, it's theft and deserves a boot stomping.

Assistant crack whore is not listed.

If I'd might be allowed to spitball, it might be because women in a lot of the listed positions would tend to concentrate in the administrative positions, and so earn higher average wages than the men doing most of the grunt work.

The most I can tell is that I know someone who claimed that he solicited a male prostitute, and that it would have cost $250 to have gone through with it.
