I'd feel lucky to be able to observe that.
Phenomenal.

The lead in to the last picture of the article should read: "This drawing by a drunken NASA scientist scribbled on the back of a gin soak bar nap explains what you are looking at here:"

And since it's finland, you can watch it all from your glass roofed igloo.

Wait:  If it was caused by the moon instead of the sun, wouldn't those be moon dogs instead of sun dogs?

Snark aside, I've seen a full lunar halo, and I've seen sun dogs, but I've never seen moon dogs before.  That's just friggin' awesome, and I'd have loved to see it in person.

Since part of it was due to the snow cannons making snow for an event that I assume includes foreigners, aliens are technically a correct answer.

Have you seen C-beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate?

I saw a nice moon halo the other week. Fortunately, I did not have to go that far north to see it.

I've seen something *similar*, but in no way that fantastic.  I've seen the ring around the moon, and the 2 "moon dogs", but not the extra halo with those other 2 points of light.

Helps to (as they say in the article) live in the freaking great white north. :P
