That doesn't seem like a lot to me but I'm sure if this makes it to the Politics tab, there will be quite the positive spin.

2013-10-31 10:05:24 PM
Well, of course. The administration didn't promote the Affordable Car Act.

I had no idea I could sign up for an affordable car.

Didn't the dream of an affordable car die with the Yugo?

Someone told my friend's co-worker that he was forced to give up his car, and the payments on the new one are more than twice as much!

Oooh, green. Nice.

I'd like an affordable car.

Considering a whopping 126 signed up in Mass the first month, I'm not surprised.

Coverage takes effect in 2014, right? Congress can't get around to doing anything until the very last minute and you expect Americans in general to be any different? Who gives a shiat about the first day? Is there some kind of medal or some shiat?

It's another way for the "liberal media" to act butthurt about something just a tiny bit to the left of Hitler.

We are indeed a nation of procrastinators. There was a margin of only a few hours before the US defaulted on its debts, and now Congress has only 18 days left to schedule three more votes to repeal Obamacare and hold more Benghazi hearings!

I was told that people who aren't insured don't want insurance, and now you're telling me they aren't signed up on the very first day?

Obama: The first President who was impeached over a Web site.

He's living somewhere in East Kenya now, far from his tormentors.

A website is broken. Everything is ruined.

This whole reminds me of

imgs.xkcd.com.

/If you have to use the healthcare.gov website to purchase insurance it's because your state's governor is screwing you to score political points. Most of the state exchange websites are working just fine.

Obama. Brilliant enough to commit election fraud on a massive scale that catapulted him into the White House twice -- but too stupid to figure out Dreamweaver.

The same CBS that ran the same BS story a few days ago about Obamacare that was debunked by FOX NEWS? That same CBS?

The ACA is like the Democratic party. It's far from perfect, but the only alternative being seriously offered (Republicans for the Democrats, pure 'free market' health insurance) at this stage is far worse.

I'd much rather have a liberal party to vote for, and single-payer health care, but what we have will have to do for now, until the better option has a shot.

Yep, Healthcare plans aren't exactly an impulse buy.

Positive spin, at least in my thinking:  Yo, health insurance is serious business, I'd expect most people to want to at least spend a couple days considering their selections before pulling the trigger on one.

I refuse to buy anything that's more than $1k the same day, without 3 quotes, etc...

Pretty much my feelings on it... No Republican or Libertarian will ever get a vote from me, at any rate.

I've been on MAHealth the last two years and it was a great help to me and my family. Best insurance coverage we've ever had.

ACA threads are getting like gun threads - every possible thing has been said about it, and now it's just the same couple of dozen Farkers, all sounding like they're reading from scripts.

My sisters boyfriend thought the shutdown debate was over whether Obamacare was going to pass or not.

He didn't know it was put into law years ago. The GOP is doing a great job in keep this underwraps.

They're the worst piece of shiat assholes this country has had to deal with in a long time.

I got an Obamaspam about the Koch sucker brothers funding kiosks at universities that try to convince college kids to not sign up for the ACA..*sigh*

2013-11-01 06:13:27 AM
It's really sad that the ACA discourse is all about healthcare.gov, because there are a lot of GREAT things about ACA that aren't really being talked about since so many people in the media are like sharks responding to a little blood in the water.

Also, the first day signups don't mean much when a site is getting slammed far above its capacity, when the deadline's not until next year, and when many state exchanges are ALSO taking signups. All we're really talking about here are six people who went through one particular hoop of many that are available.

Count me as one of those, since coverage was still 3 months away, just saw no reason at this time sign up. 3 months is a long time. Hell, could probably log in at 11:45pm on Dec 31st.
