Did The Addams Family ever really go away? They had two successful films in the 90's and a profitable merchandising machine that followed, as well as a Broadway show a few years ago that ran for like a year even though it got bad reviews. The Munsters are better anyhow.

There was also the 1998 Addams Family Reunion, with Tim Curry as Gomez, followed by 65 episodes of The New Addams Family.

So, good job leaving a movie reboot and TV revival that ran longer than the original series out of your article about a potential movie reboot, article.

That's because it sucked. Sorry, but it did. The casting was terrible. So was the writing.

Oh I'm not saying it's watchable. But you would think that the fact this has already been attempted and fell flat on its face would have a place in the article.

Well it's going to be computer animated so what the voice actress looks like isn't exactly a problem.

What is a problem is that Raul Julia is no longer with us to play Gomez.

No love for Addams or Munsters here. But I will watch Munsters just to observe Yvonne de Carlos' "vaudeville hands" and Fred Gwynn's super awesome "flustered fuss hands".

Because you always want to have a bit of business with your hands. Just ask Thing.

A woefully underrated game from Mystique, the makers of Custer's Revenge. They really did a good job adapting the source game into an pubic triangle, where you have to jump around applying crab medication while all manner of coont cooties try to kill Pubert.

Should be pretty since they are both dead . . .

Yeah, both Astin and Julia gave it their personal touch and whoever follows will have to work hard to be as memorable. Same with Morticia.

But Christina Ricci is Wednesday. Too bad she's a bit old for the role now.

Unless there's nudity involved this time.

I don't see why they don't just have Christina Ricci pick up the reins as the new matron of the Addams family, along with that kid that she was crushing on in the second movie.  Of course, she'd force him to take 'her' name instead of the other way around.

Fester and Itt and Lurch and Granny could still be in show, but would rather avoid having someone replace Raul as Gomez and Angelica has said she'd never do the role again due to how strenuous the outfit was for her to wear.

Have Pugsley bring over his little monsters every so often.

Totally agree. Astin defined the role, although Julia was fantastic.

Damn, that's one of those "I could have sworn I saw his obit . . . " things.

Still working? Even better. If you have access to the digital archive of The New Yorker, there's a hilarious interview with him and Charles Addams on the making of the show that the NYer re-ran with Addams passed away. Both of those guys were nuts.

She did an interview where she said it caused her agonizing pain after a few hours, it was so tight. And it restricted her breathing and circulation.

After the sequel was done, she asked for the thing and ritually burned it in her backyard.
