In case anyone wants to see the actual video instead of a bunch of screen caps...

Someone post a screenshot of Token dressed up playing LotR. I can't do it.

Yes. Same basic material, same author. It counts.

Be honest subby, you don't give two shiats about this, you just wanted to make the joke.

FTFA: "In an extended intro to this week's episode, the familiar yellow family are rather brilliantly transformed into characters from 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'. "

It's just "The Hobbit".  Believe it or not, there was a book of it around before the movies.  Unless the trolls and Gollum in the cave are going to show up in the sequel film as well.

Anyways, the bigger story is that this week's episode is the one with The Death.  I'm surprised I have seen it spoiled yet.

They need to do a Walking Dead episode with Homer being a Zombie and when Marge shoots him in the head he keeps on coming, because Homer has such a small brain.

My understanding is that it's not the big death revealed earlier this year but a minor character's death.

Really?  So there are two perma-deaths this season, one major and one minor?  I hadn't heard that.

EW says not a major character. But I thought the big death was this season too.

Okay, I looked up the original article I saw about the major death:
"The story will be produced this year though it may air in season 26."
While details are scarce, Jean hinted that "the actor playing the character won an Emmy" for the role, stopping short of revealing which of the beloved (or not so beloved?) animated gang would not survive. Jean told  THRthat the episode would happen sometime in mid- to late-2014.

So I guess it won't be the one coming up this weekend, or anytime this season for that matter.

May as well be Edna now I suppose. Would be kind of creepy if that's who it was going to be anyway. Although I'm sure they would not air the episode if that were the case.

They've already confirmed that she was not the one to be killed off, and that her character will be retired.

Still...I wonder how she will be "retired"? Will she run off in search of Woodrow or something?

I doubt they're going to have Ned lose another wife.  I expect it to be a running joke that whenever Bart's class is shown, he just happens to have a substitute teacher, possibly with a different reason given each time as to why Krabappel isn't there that day.  They could also just say see retired from teaching and here's a new teacher.

I hope they approach it with some explanation. Something respectful obviously....but some crazy, appropriate reason that has some humor in it.
