Subby here.  Since this is obviously a strongly emotional subject to be sharing in public on Fark, let me try and remove some of the awkwardness by assuring you that this is meant with all the best of intentions, and you can feel free to share with anyone you know who might appreciate it.

Cool work.

My son's 24th birthday would have been last Sunday. We lost him 3 years ago.

I need to make certain my sister sees this. Her son, Bryan, would have been 30 years old on April 23rd. We lost him in 1984 when he was 13 months old.

My son just celebrated his 12th Birthday on the 29th. Seeing your video made that day all that more special for me.

That's an extremely good lullaby and I can't think of a better tribute. If I had little ones I'd play it for them at bedtime.

You're diving a Duster, Khonshu.

Nicely done, sir.

Infant loss is a terrible thing. That's why I recommend tagging infants with those deer trackers scientists use.

I thought I could make it through any video online (and I've seen some horrid shiat), but I couldn't make it through your vid.

You are an awesome person in the most literal sense of the word. I sit here in awe of your resilience.

Going to check on my kid thirty times tonight. I might get some sleep.

Much love to you, subby.

You touched me, thank you for turning something so tragic into something beautiful and sharing it with us.

This was truly, truly beautiful. I'm deeply saddened for your loss. I can't imagine what you went through and are still going through.

It's okay, I LOL'd, too! (Welcome to Fark, right?)
I would expect nothing less than the greatest comments in any thread, this one included :)
Oh, and thank you to everyone for your kind words.  It really means a ton!

p.s. In the spirit of sharing this gift to Matthew with everyone (for any of you that are musically inclined), I'm more than happy to email you the sheet music.  (eip)

I'm the youngest child. I didn't find out that my mother lost a little girl who was still born until my mother was in her 80s and developing dementia.

People deal with things in different ways. I'm sorry for your loss.

Check out khonshu's YouTube channel for more great videos of his original music, performed either by him (using multitracking) or by his male a capella chorus. He's even written his own Christmas carol "Wish a Merry Christmas," which was introduced at his chorus's Christmas show last year. If you like to go caroling, you should get it and start learning it now.

Many of his original "tags" have been highly rated on BarbershopTags.com.

My ex-girlfriend lost her son when he was 4 months old. Crib death brought on by Fragile X complications.
I'll be sure to forward this to her.

Not gonna watch. Can't watch. +1 or anything else. But I can't. Oklahoma. Oklahoma.

Any money I can scrape up already goes to Doctors Without Borders. I hope that helps in some infinitely small measure. I can't even read comments on this.

How about this instead? As a legacy for Matthew, you could make the sheet music available for download as a .PDF on a website along with learning tracks, and include a PayPal Donation button. The button should not go to your own PayPal account, but instead go to that of a related charity of your choice (have them send you the code to put on your website), such as any that funds research into improving prenatal and neonatal care, counseling of bereaved parents, or any other such thing.

As a bereaved parent myself, I am so sorry for your loss.  This was a very beautiful tribute to your child.

As someone who is just a couple hours away from putting his 8mo son in a lobster costume and taking him Trick or Treating for the first time, this is killing me.  I don't think I would care to go on living if I lost him.  Having a kid has already made me so much more appreciative of everything in life, but seeing this is going to make me enjoy tonight that much more.  Jesus.  It just sucks that people have to go through something like that.

That was really touching.  I'm profoundly sorry for your loss...
