So what you're saying is....

Nothing of value was lost?

2013-10-30 06:15:37 PM
Since this is Rasmussen, it's probably more like 7%

I dunno. I was talking to people last night who can't believe any one voted for Obama after they knew obamacare would ruin everything forever.

The noise machine has convinced some people pretty well.

57% will still get her the job

Sure,  some people. But those people never voted for Obama in the first place.

Has anyone ever gotten 57% of the popular vote and lost the election?

2013-10-30 07:30:45 PM
You know what's amazing, how the person at fault always corresponds to whoever is up for an election or senate approval.

WHAT AN AMAZING COINCIDENCE!!!

2013-10-30 07:34:03 PM
Out of those 43% of Americans, what percentage of voters would think anything, anything at all will hurt Hilary's candidacy?

Use the deaths of 4 people for political collateral, stay classy, republicans.

Actually, the electoral college currently gives a structural advantage to the democratic candidate, for the same reasons republicans have a structural advantage in the house.

He should have excused himself and left the room. It would have looked more presidential than sitting there like he's a chicken at a Tea Party rally.

On the scale of things, it was pretty minor. I chalk it up to the occasionally grossly inelegant handling of something of which most presidents are guilty at some point or another. But Obama's handling of Benghazi was even less inelegant.

I mean, seriously, if that were Obama, we'd be hearing endlessly how Obama sent our air defense interceptors out to sea and it wasn't until an Air National Guard general did his job for him that we got any CAP up.

But only 36% think it is even somewhat likely that the murderers of the ambassador and the other three Americans will be caught and punished, with 10% who say it's Very Likely. Fifty-two percent (52%) believe the murderers are unlikely to be caught, including 18% who feel it is Not At All Likely. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure.

These are the dumbest questions on the planet and do nothing but code signalling.  A random sampling of people have literally zero idea about how hard or easy it is to investigate what a mob did in Libya last year.  It's not even a poll question that can generally determine public moods like "Does my city spend tax money wisely?".  It's just there to generate stupid blog posts, like when Reason/Rupe polls showed that most Americans believed that the Supreme Court would rule Obamacare unconsitutional.  They sure showed the statists what for!

MFAWG: What happens if she doesnt run?

I imagine she won't.  But it will be fun to watch the Republicans create an entire Die, Hillary, Die! industry and have to then scramble to figure out how to deal with Not-Hillary.  I suspect this was part of their problem in 2008.  The GOP was gearing up for "wimmin be cray-cray", and when they got a black dude instead, they had to scramble to change messages.  They had not laid the ground for much dogwhistling against a minority candidate, so they had to just go straight to "N*gger! N*gger! N*gger!" as a Hail Mary.

If there is a semi-viable choice, the Democrats should push a Latino candidate (or, hell, a Latina candidate).  But keep Hillary floating as "undecided" until at least December 2015.  Have Hillary bow out just before the first primaries and then watch the Republicans launch straight into "Wetback biatch!" territory.  1st black President, followed by 1st Hispanic and first woman President, and pretty much have the GOP alienate the Hispanic community for the foreseeable future

Which is why a Republican lost the popular vote but still won the electoral college in 2004, right?

Their hero lost 238 Marines 30 years and got reelected in a landslide. But Benghazi cost Romney the election somehow.

2013-10-30 08:44:15 PM
So, 43% of the old people that still have landlines? I'm guessing that properly unskewing the numbers gives you the 25-35% of people that will vote for the GOP even after Reagan shoots their mother in the face.

NO MORE BUSHES

NO MORE CLINTONS

That's the deal.

I could really give a fark about Benghazi, but if Hillary runs, I might vote 3rd party, or not vote at all.

So in other words, I get to relive the 2000s.

Bad choice for a candidate.

And no, I don't want to hear any shiat from any of you.

2013-10-30 08:45:50 PM

You should go back and watch the long, awkward period of time that Bush sat there, frozen in fear, mentally pleading that someone tell him what to do. What was it, 6 minutes? That's an eternity in a crisis situation.

I actually feel bad for the guy, since it's embarrassing on a historic level, but c'mon man.  I bet there were teachers at that very school who had heard the news, wondering what the fark Bush was doing still sitting there.

The beltway says Hillary is inevitable, but my political gut just doesn't buy it, and I've got a pretty decent political spidey-sense.
