I read Seeberg Orchestrion (1913) as "Orchestron". That would have been an awesome Decepticon.

So, now that lists are worn out on the internet, sites are just posting tiny pics of items with something in common?

To be fair it might not be so bad if its entire catalogue wasn't 100% pure corporate pop shiate marketed to children. If they had had the courage to put even one Dead Kennedys song on it I'd be combing ebay for it as we speak.

If anyone's interested in this stuff, there's a museum in the Cotswolds in the UK full of mechanical music, like music boxes, self-playing pianos etc.

One fascinating fact - the cylinders for phonographs last for decades, much longer than records for gramophones. The cylinder phonograph mostly lost because of the practicality of records and the flamability of cylinders.

Pretty crap not to have the pictures be links to more info.  My entitlement tells me I shouldn't need to open a separate tab to google these things.  *sigh*

Pop Chart Labs is garbage.

I'm not impressed by their ability to visit every Wikipedia page in a given category, convert the top photo from each one into a vector illustration, and then cram them all together in a big meaningless grid.

I once had a Garrard Zero 100 turntable with the articulated tone arm.  It was good for MANY hours of staring at while completely stoned out of my mind ;)
