Henry Rollins tells a great story about the water in Russia. Worth hunting down.

Вода = Water
Водка = Vodak

/I'd like a "K" Pat

Still eagerly awaiting the first arrest of an Olympian for having the temerity to be gay.  I have popcorn all ready to go for a televised international incident.

Please don't watch or go to these games. Make these Olympics the worst TV rated Olympics in the modern world. I'd love to see these Olympics get less then a 1 percent share in the US markets. Affecting the advertisers is the only form of protest they will pay attention to.

The heck with the Games, the drama around it will be much more entertaining this year.

I'm going to start popcorn early.

/There better still be curling.

I'm going to have marathon sex with my bf during the opening ceremonies.  I may even let the bf put it in my Putin.

Plan on bringing Fracked water. Entertain the peasants with water that lights on fire, unlike Водка, since it has a taste.

It's still OK to dump the gay construction trash into the ground water..right?

Don't give these homophobic asshats a dime. There's been reports of anti-gay vigilante groups kidnapping and torturing suspected homosexuals.

Putin has announced that all gays are welcome, be it spectators or participants.

So, I expect tons of gay pride parades trolling the Russian police, who'll just ignore them.

Popcorn for that though. People really trying hard to be arrested can be entertaining as well.

On the water thing.

I heard they have stores in Russia, where you can buy stuff for the purpose of drinking it.

But sure, bring your own water. That'll work out great.

Some of that bottled water in Russia comes from the tap behind the store or the factory behind the dump.  A lot of merchandise there, even food, is counterfeit.  The  Evian might not be Evian.

They still handing out compromised USB sticks and cables for free right?

2013-10-30 12:46:44 PM
Yeah right, do you actually think the IOC, McDonald's and CocaCola are going to allow tap water to be consumed?

Beer or some other softdrink is probably safe.

Lots of botted water is tap water anyway. Here where I live tap water is of higher quality than random spring water anyway.

But of course, we haven't polluted our water supply like I am sure USSR did, commie style.

As opposed to the bottled water in the States. Like Dasani, for example, which comes from the pristine natural spring of the Atlanta Public WaterWorks.

Ozarka is my preferred brand of bottled water...

As mentioned upthread, it's the misrepresentation. Dasani doesn't claim to be spring water, and some people avoid actual spring water. Anything labelled as Evian is expected to come from the source listed on the Evian label however.
