With all the people picking the Bulls to win it all, I would not be surprised if Lebron went off for 65 tonight.

Swing. The. Ball.
Out to the wing.
Come on! It's time to shoot! Do the Mario!

Take. A. Three.
And then again.
Come on! Let's shoot some bricks! Do the Mario!

I just watched the Dwayne Wade cheapshot reel from Bill & Jalen's NBA preview and I just remembered how much I can't stand that guy.

I would not be surprised if Lebron went for 65 and the Heat lost. Their role player production was all over the place last season, and they've shown that they struggle unless someone else can step up in addition to Lebron.

Awful.  A lot of those guys will miss huge chunks of the year due to injuries.  See if you can trade for Gallo and complete the set.

They do but only with Comcast.  They are refusing to offer reasonable carriage rates to Dish Network, DirectTV or ATT Uverse leaving about 60% of Houston unable to watch the Astros or Rockets.  Going on 2 years with this garbage now.  The general consensus is that Astros owner Jim Crane, who owns the majority stake in CSN Houston, is largely to blame for the impasse.  So, again, he can go eat a dick.

The Heat-Bulls is a great match-up for opening night.  Seeing how the new look CheapAss Nuggets seem to be resolved to firmly entrench themselves in a quagmire of mediocrity for years.

Why bother?  Most of them are just phoning it in until mid-April or so.  The NBA doesn't really heat up until after tax season is past.

/then they move on to the two-month-long playoffs

Given the supporting cast for the past few years, the Heat's chances come down to the following:

1) Can LeBron stay healthy?
2) On any given night, will two other players provide above average performances (preferably bosh/wade and one other person)?

That's it.

Put me down as not believing in the Bulls' chances to win a title. Thibs' insistence on playing every game at an Iwo Jima intensity level is going to wear his guys down just like it did last year. What good is the top seed when half your players are injured?

Well, they'd really be testing whether LeBron had been practicing his FTs. Because there's no way in hell they're going to let him do it from the field.

It should have been:

Pacers - Nets
Heat - Chicago
Clippers - Rockets

lol... yup.  I'm inclined to agree with you, but a part of me thinks (hopes?) he may have learned a lesson last year.  There's a lot of tension between him and Pax/Foreman over the issue, so hopefully some balance will be struck this year.  We'll see.

That would have been awesome.  Maybe Thunder-Spurs as a late staggered quadra-header.

Those rings are ridiculous.  Funny seeing the supreme fatass manager of basketball operations get a ring.  They could just have their own little banquet/strokefest and just give the rings to the guys who actually won them on national TV.

It bothers me that games focus so much of the appearance of the athletes, but still do such a shiatty job of modeling character contact. It just doesn't look natural when the characters are supposed to be running into each other or slapping or high fiving or anything. But they have the brow sweat down pat
