FTA:  Baltimore has to take care of business against divisional rivals. A Week 7 loss to the Steelers hurt, but not as bad as going 0-2 against the Browns would.

WTF are you talking about rankings guy? Baltimore beat the Browns 14-6 in week 2. In fact, the've beaten the Browns 11 times in a row*, which makes the Browns way overdue for a win.

*Any stat geeks out there know the record for most consecutive win/loss by an NFL matchup?

Triumph: *Any stat geeks out there know the record for most consecutive win/loss by an NFL matchup?

Let me Google that for you

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_NFL_team_has_the_most_consecutive_vic to ries_over_another_team

20 consecutive victories. The Miami Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills twice a year for ten years from 1970 to 1979.

Type your answer here... 49ers beat the LA/St. Louis Rams 17 consecutive times. Game 2 of 1990, and every game betwee 1991-1998.
Another record: 49ers also won 12 consecutive road games against the Rams, 1987-1998.

Most consecutive times one team has beaten another team at home is the Redskins over the Lions, 21 straight times(since moving to Washington); 1937-2009.

How could the Baltimore Browns go 0-2 against the Browns from Cleveland, considering the Maryland crew is already 1-0 against Ohio version and they only play 2 games against each other this year?

Ah, I see I should read the thread (or at least the very Boobies) before posting.

There is another article on the sports page that explains the Chiefs situation pretty well.  The Chiefs had a very easy first half and will have a very tough second half.  Their opponents so far have a combined record of 21-40.  Soon they face Denver and San Diego twice, and they also face Indianapolis.

If they stay at #1 I will be surprised.

mikaloyd: THE FALCONS ARE TOO DAMNED HIGH!

Is that supposed to explain their performance Sunday? They were high? Ricky Williams used to get high and play football all the time...and he was good. Don't blame this on drugs...

The Jaguars are still ranked too high.

How in the fark can Seattle still be #4? They almost lost to a ghastly Rams squad that put up more yards than they did and figured out how to shutdown pretty much every aspect of their game. They really need to be around 11-12.

7-1 goes a long way. Good teams find a way to win games where they play like total shiat.

-Never turned the ball over
-Forced 2 turnovers
-stopped STL on 5 plays from the 6 yardline
-Threw 2 TD passes

All on a night without an offensive line and terrible playcalling on the road against a top pass rush and a game where Janoris Jenkins played possibly the coverage of his life.

To be fair, it didn't really make sense for Seattle to be trading young talent or picks for a DE.

It's time, once again, foe errbody to play Fark's 3rd most popular NFL-themed in-thread trivia. Prepare to be haunted by the ghost of RG3's talent as you answer 4 categories worth of SPOOKY QUESTIONS. 12 questions this week and they're all SCARY - you'll be more scared than a #1 overall draft pick to go play for the Jaguras! You'll look more terrified than Matt Barkley! Your guts will be ripped from your body and and your skin will be flayed, an experience comparable to watching Josh Freeman play "quarterback." Categories this week are Rest in Pieces, Monsters, Nightmares, and Slashers

RIP:
Tell me which dearly departed NFL players these grisly diagrams depict of their untimely demise:

i291.photobucket.com

Monsters:
1. Like a zombie, this player staggers to the league lead in rushing yards in spite of the shambling corpse of a once fearsome offensive unit.
2. Like some sort of frankenstein's monster assembled entirely of legs, this kicker has made all 19 of his attempts this season.
3. What team has avoided sacking the quarterback like a vampire avoids garlic, with only 9 sacks so far all season?

Nightmares:

1. Which NFL QB found himself in the nightmare situation of committing a holding penalty in order to prevent a defender from collecting a fumble he lost?
2. Which NFL team will toss and turn all night after coming face to face with an illegal bat penalty? Somebody get that bat's papers together.
3. Which NFL defense strikes fear into the QB's heart by having the most pick 6's so far this season?

Slashers:
1. Which QB is the most accurate in the NFL, carving up defenses week in and week out with his terrifying toothy gaze?
2. Which child's doll-sized terror gashes opposing defenses for the most yards per carry? (Minimum 15 carries)
3. Which wild-eyed receiver transforms into a metaphorical beast to gouge defenders down the field, with the most receptions of 40 or more yards?

Answer Sheet:

Rest In Pieces:
1. Bengals demise:
2. Chiefs demise:
3. Titans demise:

Monsters:
1. League lead in rushing yards:
2. 19 kicks, none missed:
3. Lowest sack total:

Nightmares:
1. QB committed holding:
2. Team called for illegal bat:
3. Defense with the most pick sixes:

Slashers:
1. Most accurate QB so far:
2. Highest YPC:
3. Most 40+ yard receptions:

Thirty-one players have more total touchdowns than the Jaguars offense (seven), including six non-quarterbacks. A stat like that isn't uncommon at the beginning of a season, but it's Week 9.

That would be the honorable Peyton F. Manning.
