While Improv Everywhere has done some great stuff, this wasn't an example of it.

Hey, "Improv" Anywhere:

img2u.info

It really hasn't been good for a few years now - probably at the point it stopped being actual improv and more "poorly playing a script through in front of an unexpected audience of which one or two people are mildly amused"

You guys have opportunities to do some cool stuff, and blow it on this sort of thing.

Well, it's no Best Buy

My ATF is still The Amazing Hypnotist.
People coming up to the actors and yelling at them like crazy street people... "STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING - YOU'RE HYPNOTIZED!" makes me lol every time.

Exactly. I keep hoping for another Best Buy or Home Depot scenario but I guess those days are long gone.

Yeah.

Also, that's not at all what happened in Back to the Future.

I got to thinking, of all the people standing around there, how many of them actually saw BTtF let alone recall that particular scene.  I saw it when it first came out and found very little of it to be noteworthy.

/Well, other than when MJ Fox was ordering a soda and asked for a "Pepsi Free" or a "Tab". Now THAT was pretty funny.

What about the absolute perfection of Star Wars Subway Car?

Hmmm, not so sure about that (IMO). The thing that made I/E great in its early incarnation was that the passerby were generally tricked into thinking whatever they were seeing was "real" and not some sort of performance.

At least they're trying.

Confused and mildly amused, those people were.

I am afraid that when the "Flash Mob" phase passed , so did this. They clearly are trying to reinvent themselves. But this doesn't seem to be the way.

Look, if you're going to the trouble of getting dressed up and finding a DeLorean, forget about mildly amusing some people in a cafe

Try pulling the joke on your country's prime minister instead.

The one thing I hate about these, is that it completely proves a lot of sci-fi stories are bullshiat.  Where someone either travels in time, or is some sort of space alien (who looks human) and people freak out because they're dressed funny or act different.

So, IE is now a sponsor of Fark?  What is it, every other day we get a shiattier skit?

Why was Jackie Mason pretending to be Doc Brown?

I did not realize you could sit 3 people in a Delorean, much less one equipped with a flux capacitor.

Must be one of those second generation Deloreans.

You, you either haven't seen "Back to the Future 2", or do not remember it very well.

They made a Back to the Future 2? Was it one of those straight to meshcloud releases?
