I've never heard so much bad advice and pseudo dietary science in all my life as from the Crossfit nuts.

Yoga does have a religious beginning. This is a pretty well established fact.

I really don't know much about American Yoga. Its not my kind of thing. But, just because something originates with a religious group does not mean it doesn't have any secular value.

If that was the truth then we really should rename the days of the week. I really don't want to worship Woden on Wednesday.

And so the hell what?  Do you have an actual point, e.g. false religions have no place in the schools of nation founded on Christianity, or are you merely trolling again?

I'm sure that this Theocrat has no problems defending prayers at football games, or teaching that evolution is just a theory.

I hate when people try to get clever with pictures/letters and screw it up royally. Is the cross supposed to be a "y" or a "t" or both or neither?

Even if that picture is a joke, who in their right mind would even attempt to do that for a joke? You're just asking to break/dislocate something if you coughed/hiccuped/sneezed/laughed while doing it.

For the lulz?  People do WAY more dangerous and stupid things all the time.  Entire sports are far more risky and accident prone.  I've certainly done more risky things for less gain (ok, sometimes booze was involved).

An acquaintance of mine put herself into the hospital with rhabdo because she listened to those idiots. I can't imagine what they are doing to their bodies when rushing through technical lifts for a faster time. Sure, you can abuse your body like that in your early twenties but that shiat is going to catch up with them in a few years.

vpb: I've worked with Jehovah's witnesses.  They think office parties are religion.

Office parties or those pagan birth celebration rituals involving flames and food offerings? Or were you meaning the pagan celebrations of Halloween, Christmas or Easter?

Jehovah's Witnesses are one of the few Christian groups that doesn't go along with the co-opted pagan "christian" holidays. Also, they don't go to war and kill people.

So, if the entire world was full of Jehovah's Witnesses, there would be no wars, we'd save a bunch of money from not having to celebrate holidays, and there would be no Saturday morning wake ups from people knocking on your door, because, well, if everyone was a JW, then no one would need to be preached to.

No.

They (some of them, at least) really do squats on a farking ball. The belief is that, should you survive, you'll have stronger stabilizing muscles and maybe in return you'll get to keep at least one knee joint intact.

There is a lot of stupid and dangerous in Crossfit.

Funny, my introduction to good training habits (years ago) was via Crossfit, and that kind of stuff was specifically made fun of and derided.  But then again, I don't mis-attribute things I don't understand to nebulous groups of people I also don't understand.

Well, that's nice. Not for nothing, but I didn't say that they all did that shiat. Crossfitters are somewhat diverse, after all.

You're better off in the long run doing classical strength training, especially if you do use quality training programs lifted from the crazy cold-war era Eastern Bloc stuff.
