I assume that since this is Australia, all of the new species feature venom sacs and stingers capable of killing a fully grown man in seconds.

I had some Mediterranean house geckos "colonize" the exterior of my home a few years back, and didn't know what the heck they were.

But they just hang out and eat bugs in the garage and outside walls, do a good job of it, and don't really compete with any native species.

So we're cool.  (Need a poster-shopped photo of a giant and malignant, evolving gecko with the caption, "SOON."
