"The  Washington Free Beacon, a project of the 501(c)4 Center for American Freedom, is a nonprofit online newspaper that began publication on February 7, 2012. Dedicated to uncovering the stories that the professional left hopes will never see the light of day, the Free Beacon produces in-depth and investigative reporting on a wide range of issues, including public policy, government affairs, international security, and media criticism. Whether it's exposing cronyism, dissecting the relationship between the progressive movement and the mainstream media, finding out just who is shaping our domestic and foreign policy and why, or highlighting the threats to American security and peace in a dangerous world, the  Free Beaconis committed to serving the public interest by reporting news and information that currently is not being fully covered by other news organizations."

And yet they keep their funding sources secret.

It's not hard to keep your show factual if it's low on facts and high on bloviating.

Then again, Hardball would probably be a great place to perform scientific experiments on vacuums. Chris Matthews is exceptionally good at sucking the air out of a room.

I have no idea who watches this show. Liberals seem to hate it every bit as much as conservatives do. Matthews is a tool, regardless of party affiliation.

We don't have a correction page like the New York Times. If we get a fact wrong, we are being dishonest and incompetent.

The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society.  Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.

As Conan said at the Correspondent's DInner, "Chris Matthew's show is the only one on TV where the commercial breaks serve primarily as an opportunity to wipe the spittle off the camera lenses."

Still, as annoying as Chris Matthews can be, he's still less annoying than Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer or anyone at all on FNC.

especially considering the fact that he hated the clintons (and gore) so much that he voted for bush. his fawning coverage of GWB's landing on the aircraft carrier is one of the most unctuous, fulsome displays of sycophancy that i've ever seen. it's appalling.

Currently, Chris Matthews' Politifact file has three statements evaluated, only one of which is rated "true."

These paragon's of truth should avoid looking up "Sean Hannity".

The funny thing is, the sycophantic tone he takes with Obama is the exact same sycophantic tone he took with Bush.  He's not a staunch leftist or anything along those lines, he's the pundit equivalent of a starfarker.

What now? I have never watched him other than unavoidable election coverage shows, but, the right seems to hate him with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Did he flip GOP to BHO? Starfarker indeed then. There is something very wrong a person that has such a need for the love of authority. Journalists (loose term) should have the opposite of that.

I saw that interview. The way I took it, he was saying that he doesn't have the luxury of being wrong, because his critics will just accuse him of being dishonest, even if it's an honest mistake. Which is pretty much how people react to anything incorrect said by anyone they don't like, whether it's Fox News or Chris Matthews or anyone else.

Meh, maybe that's not what he meant, but that's what I took away from it. But them maybe I'm just lying.

That's a pretty understandable position for him to take, actually...

Of course, both Fox and CNN are rolling out a Lot of inaccurate crap nowadays. Fox, of course, has far more experience being incorrect than anyone else..
