Huh, so posts don't get put into the future anymore? Interesting.

I'm going with game-ending triple play.  Not out of the realm of possibilities, but would be quite out of the ordinary like obstruction/pick off.

Salty is going to be in the lineup tonight, isn't he? :-(

Let's hope Gomes is too :-D

Here's my prediction on how the rest of the games of this series will end:

Game 5: Balk

Game 6: Dropped third strike

Game 7: Unassisted triple play

OK, well in game one he ran into a wall trying to rob Ortiz of a homerun and hasn't been the same since.

Don't forget to drink every time Joe Buck mentions how old the pitcher is.

"Did I mention that he's only 22? That's right, 22. I'm jacking myself like a priest with binoculars overlooking a Boy Scout Jamboree at the thought of such succulent, young, 22-year-old flesh. Oh yesss. 22."

Thankfully I'm taking the advice of VegasWench and listening to the Boston announcers on XM and won't hear that stuff. I'll drink though.

Best I can find is this, which was written in 2008. Not sure if there's been one since then.

13 different pitchers have combined to hit 15 World Series home runs.

Jim Bagby, Indians, 1920
Rosy Ryan, Giants, 1924
Jack Bentley, Giants, 1924
Jess Haines, Cardinals, 1926
Bucky Walters, Reds, 1940
Lew Burdette, Braves, 1958
Mudcat Grant, Twins, 1965
Jose Santiago, Red Sox, 1967
Bob Gibson, Cardinals, 1967 and 1968
Mickey Lolich, Tigers, 1968
Dave McNally, Orioles, 1969 and 1970 (Slam)
Ken Holtzman, A's, 1974
Joe Blanton, Phillies, 2008

MVP! MVP!

Ortiz is batting nearly 0.750 this series with multiple home runs.

Is it possible for him to get MVP even if the Cards win?

Holy crap. Ortiz is so hot right now. This is insane.

Yeah it's possible. If they lose the series and he's still batting. 750 then I don't see how he can't win it.

Mixed first inning for Waino. Gave up the run but struck out all three outs.
Why are we giving Ortiz anything to hit.

According to Wiki, it looks like the last time it happened was 1960. It would certainly be cool to see.

Of course, I'd rather the Sox just win the series. Then Ortiz gets it without a doubt.
