I am not a big Romo fan although have been a Cowboy fan since the late '60s, yes i'm old now. But I think this loss is on the coach, who runs on 2nd and 13 when Murray is on the bench? Coach you blew it.

2013-10-27 09:00:58 PM
He could have done better but he didn't blow the game.

The defense did.

That was an awesome game and the last 62 seconds were incredible, it was basically over, the announcers were calling it for Dallas. Can't fault Romo though.

It wasn't Romo's fault. It was Dez Bryant's fault.

Why the fark did they keep going for the run?  They got nowhere without Murray.

/and Dez was acting like a baby

It's more surprising to me that after all of this time Romo doesn't want to get rid of the Cowboys rather than the other way around.

As someone who doesn't support the Cowboys, but has nothing against them either, y'all need to stop blaming Romo for every loss. Yes, he's made some egregious errors. Those errors wouldn't have cost the team those games if the defense could stop . . . something, anything for the love of grod. Romo and his arm (and receivers) nearly clocked the Broncos this year in an offensive shootout. Dallas has the same issues Denver has.

Yeah, Romo is one of the guys least responsible for the Cowboys' loss.

One of the guys most responsible?

That took a huge pair of balls for Stafford to pull that at the end of the game. Huge.

This.

Romo didn't lose the game.  Stafford won it.

They showed a clip of his post-game press conference earlier.  Basically he was screaming at everyone to get set so that he could clock the ball, when got to the line he saw how little distance it was and that the Cowboys' players weren't expecting anything to happen.  So he figured he could get it no problem by just reaching for it and went for it without telling/signalling to anyone else.

Tyron Smith blew the game with that last holding penalty. Even with Megatron's completely pwnage of the Cowboy secondary, they had the game one until that penalty stopped the clock. The only thing you can really fault Romo for is not getting Dez the ball enough.

First off, though I ragged on Romo through the gameday thread, I did not write the headline.

Next, not Romos fault in reality. Not this one. There are plenty of real things to hang on him, we do not have to make this crap up.

2013-10-28 03:53:48 AM
Damn it Tony Romo, why didn't you cover Calvin Johnson better? You're the worst excuse of a defensive back to ever play the game.

It had nothing to do with the defense that was supposed to be covering him, right?  I know he is awesome, but not 400 yards awesome.  Rob Ryan couldn't take care of business last year, and Monte can't do it this year.  They have some talent, but maybe their egos are a little too big.  Also let me remind you that one of the best ends didn't play yesterday, are you aWARE of that?  He would not let Stafford have so much time in the pocket to launch hail marys to Calvin..

As a lifelong Redskins fan and one who loves to have fun busting on Romo choking.  This Cowboy's loss was not Romo's fault. Romo came through and set the team up for the win and the weak dallas defense along with Stafford's incredible balls was the difference

You obviously don't know what a "Hail Mary" is, so please stop using the term.

Calvin Johnson was double-covered on many of those passes, and they still couldn't stop him. I think yesterday there simply was nobody able to cover him, in any way, without interfering. Stafford was in the zone and Megatron was playing on a whole other level (other than the two bad drops that resulted in turnovers... of course).

If you take away the two unfortunate turnovers by Calvin Johnson, this game isn't even close - and those were the result of him having three or four guys hovering around him; for most other receivers those would have just dropped to the ground. Even Staffords one outright interception was the result of a Cowboy playing between the slant routes of Johnson and Stafford (it was a bad offensive play more than anything, since Stafford couldn't see the Cowboy coming in above the two slant routes he was throwing toward)

In other words, you had three turnovers that were very much flukes... and made this game a lot tighter than it really was. Detroit's defense didn't play all that bad, either. Romo got knocked down quite a bit in that game, even if they didn't manage to force any turnovers.

One of the best games of the season. Calvin Johnson is simply unstoppable, period. And for Stafford to just pull one on everyone like that at the end? Pure awesome.

The fact that it shut up one of the loudest, most profane dudes (Cowboys fan) at the bar yesterday was icing on the cake.
