RIP Mr. Reed.

Totally inappropriate question: he only used that new liver for like 6 months, so can it be passed on?

2013-10-27 02:02:53 PM
it's rather sad that Lulu was his last album.

The Blue Mask is one of my favorite albums, and Rock & Roll Animal is my favorite live album.

RIP Lou.

I love the slow version of Sweet Jane on their live 1969 album.  The whole album is awesome.

Whatever this was intended to be, it set the standard for extreme noise, experimental, and power electronics for years to come.

I really love "Sweet Jane"  he may have written and performed better songs but that is my favorite.

This story is a hoax. Notice that TFA doesn't even mention a source from which they got the news about Lou's death. No family member, no spokesperson, no coroner... nothing.

Although on the up side, at least it should rule out a Lulu II being created.

Laurie Anderson's site is up and running, except for the forum. Draw your own conclusions.

Terrible, terrible news. My heart goes out to his family.

What a significant loss to the community of music.

So is he really dead today because he was reported dead Friday and Saturday as sell.

TMZ is reporting it, say what you want about TMZ but I don't think they have ever fallen for a celebrity death hoax

Your response makes no sense to me and I don't see how it has anything at all to do with this story.

Lester Bangs argued that it was the greatest album ever made. Although I can't stand the album, it was probably one of Bangs all time greatest reviews.

"According to reports". And then they cite the Rolling Stone story, which again, cites no actual source.

Laurie Anderson is Lou Reed's wife. The fact that the forum link on her website is down (when it was up earlier today) might be significant.

Snapper Carr: Lou Reed and Ace Frehley have something in common now.

Oh ferfuxake.   Thanks for that.

Mods, can you redlight this please?  Celebrity death hoaxes are stupid.

Hal Needham (director & stuntman) died on October 25th, the same day as Marcia Wallace. Lou Reed's death completes the trifecta.
