Wish I could stay up that late, but I can't. I'll read the thread when I get up.

2013-10-27 05:09:30 AM
I'm crashing out but I'll be leaving the TV on.

2013-10-27 05:16:27 AM
It's only 8:30 PM here in Sydney. I'll be watching live.

Will teams using a split tire strategy matter?

Yes. Redbull will matter quite a bit when they call Webber in 10 laps earlier or 3 laps later (only a few from the end) than his strategy calls for should Vettel makes it to 2nd.

2013-10-27 05:20:54 AM
Personally, I'm hoping I'm wrong and Redbull throws him a Barichello victory. He'll have to not Weber the start though.

2013-10-27 05:30:01 AM
Well I'm off to work so I'll miss the race live. But I'm hoping for a Webber win. He deserves one more at least to finish out his career in F1.

Formation lap, drivers are preparing....

2013-10-27 05:35:35 AM
Massa has a fantastic start, while Webber has a Webber start.

2013-10-27 05:36:02 AM
Vettel runs away, Weber drops 5 spots at the start.  Is this a rerun?

This smog is ridiculous. It actually seems worse than it was in practice and qualy

Seb pits for mediums, Alonso pits for a new front wing

Just wait for the Chinese Grand Prix.

2013-10-27 05:46:05 AM
Vettel is posting faster laps than the leaders while on the herder compound.  Unless he Webbers, Seb has the championship locked up.

*harder

2013-10-27 05:50:14 AM
Other than intra-team shenanigans, it looks like this race will come down to how many midfielders can hold up Vettel.

It's not looking like many of em will be able to.

Vettel passed Grosjean, about to pass his new biatch with ease... and there it is. Goodbye Riccardo.

Weber is officially farked.

Vettel almost a second a lap faster though.

Seb's up into P2

One of our NBCSports announcers has a sniffly nose, and Alonso is desperate enough to crazy-crossover dive-bomb Saubers.

I dunno, am I wrong? Anyone think Vettel will have to 3 stop and Weber can get away with a 2 stop? The announcers were raising the possibility, but I just don't know. I haven't seen Vettel mixing it up too hard with the other guys, but they could have missed some stuff. Still, Weber is in a heavy chasis.

Or are we resigned to a VET 3 stop - WEB 3 stop finish?

fark it, it's late and nobody else is talking.

Webber might be able to get away with 2 stops.  Won't matter anyway, he'll Webber it somehow.

Look at Future-Webber hanging in there in 3rd for now. If Redbull farks Mark so hard Ricciardo finishes ahead of him, could you imagine the lulz?

It looks like Seb and Mark are on two-stop strategies. Webber just pitted for soft tyres a few laps ago and Vettel made just his second pit

Webber just made his second stop

They obviously don't give a shiat about Webber anyway.  Like with Schumacher and old what's his face.

Sutil on a one-stop!?

Well, there you go.

2013-10-27 06:42:21 AM
Webber is a few inches taller and a good 20-something pounds heavier than Vettel. The cars are designed around Vettel, and compromises are made for Mark. Kinda sad how indifferent they've been to making a car that works for him.

TV Comentator: "Any team orders?"
Horner: "Both will race. No team orders"

Horner: "Press the self distruct button for Weber's car"

Okay, 168 hours and 33 minutes until the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will be next week in Abu Dhabi. See you then.

Rubens Baricello

And they're promoting Ricciardo, because Vettel can't win a championship without an Australian teammate to step on.

No no no. /r/formula1 tells me it's time to dismiss Webber, now that he is going to one of those lesser motorsports. Everything that happened to him was just him "playing the media," and Vettel is the bestest ever any you only hate him cause he wins!!!1

Sometimes I really love r/formula1, but they get on a high farking horse way too often.

r/nfl and r/cfb on the other hand are on par with Fark football threads for having the best online communities.

Well, that was unexpected.  I knew I should have stayed awake a little bit longer.  I missed the Webbering by 9 minutes.  Oh well, I'll just fire up the DVR.

See you next week when Vincent K. McEcclestone brings Sebastian Cena and Formula One Entertainment to Abu Dabi.

It was more for not going directly into parc ferme after the race than for doing donuts. Had he gone into parc ferme after his donuts, I doubt he would have been fined and reprimanded.

That sounds better than "excessive celebration."

Gratz to Seb! What an amazing career this guy has had and he's not even 27. Truly amazing.
