Oh holy shiat. Newsbusters is trying to make a big deal over a reporter only using a single source before reporting a story.

Seriously. NEWSBUSTERS is making an issue out of this.

They have a fair point.  Newsbusters would never do that.  They prefer to stick to zero sources.

"What's a source?"
"Probably something to do with Obamacare.  Do we have a Benghazi headline this week?"

Can we just agree that FOX and CNN are crappy sources for information, but for slightly different reasons.

Satanic_Hamster: Summary for those of us who don't click derper links?

Media critic is writing about Fox News. Media critic gets tip from a Fox staffer via e-mail that Bill O'Reilly is going to anchor the news. Media critic can't get corroboration but runs with story anyway. Story turns out to be bogus. Media critic acknowledges he made a mistake. Media critic tries to contact the source of the tip and the supposed tipster denies having sent the message; e-mail account has been deleted and it appears to have been someone else writing in the staffer's name. Someone else at Fox News tells another guy writing about the whole incident that it was a setup. News Busters has a problem with the Liberal Media blaming Fox News for Fox News's dirty tricks.

Obviously, focusing on your competition behind the scenes is necessary in order to stay relevant, however this emphasis by Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ect to publicly focus on their rivals is rather unbecoming and does not serve their viewers in the least.

Someone's failure or mistake doesn't mean you are successful just for not farking up.  Stop with the "one-up-manship," it's boring and makes y'all look like children.

And yes, I am speaking to all of the news outlets as they are all guilty.

fox is becoming some kind of weird activist arm of the right wing, they've moved beyond just propaganda and are now active participants. It's kinda creepy, curious to see how blatant they get with it though.

Don't vote for anyone. Stay home. It's not worth your effort. Let other people who think their votes count waste their time. You stay home. Especially during primaries, and in off-year elections. And local elections too. Just stay home. Because they're all the same.

1) Reporter does arguably stupid thing.
2) Reporter points out that there's evidence that suggests that Fox tricked him into it so they could trash his reputation in retaliation for a negative story he did about them.
3) Newsbusters points out that it's theoretically possible that it was all a giant coincidence and Fox wasn't actually involved.
4) Even if Fox did do it, it's exactly the same as something completely different that Obama did, so that makes it OK.
5) Random unrelated anti-Obama .jpg included near the top just for the hell of it.
