Dortmund vs Schalke, can both lose? :P

Mad respect for Dortmund, but I wouldn't mind if they lost and I just hate Schalke :P

Hopefully Bayern don't have too much trouble today.

One of those mornings I'm glad I get the morning shift with our daughter. Need coffee now.

Thanks for the tip on the clocks.

Gotta give it up to the CP fans.  They chant and cheer like mad even when they suck

I really respect that. That's what great fans do.

In a related story, my nailbiting is getting worse as Arsenal engage in a marvelous display of Handbrake Football this morning. At least they've stopped conceding possession so readily in the past few minutes.

While the main games are yet to start would any one be interested in a shirt/t-shirt/scarf/merchindise exchange?

I know most English clubs do an interesting range of stuff (not all of it bright yellow or green in Norwich's case) and having a shirt from an American sports team is always nice.

CP is doing a good job of shutting off passing lanes

Only a matter of time before Ozil asserts his will.  Such a great pickup

I'd give hard earned money for a great selection of scarves from Liverpool.  some of the ones i see being held aloft at Anfield are SWEET and they don't sell them online.  Makes me grumpy

Most of the cool ones will be unofficial knock offs that you can only buy from a man with just a suitcase near Anfeild on a match day

Hahaha, I was wondering how you'd respond to that. Nice scarf, but you need a shave.

I should imagine quite a few of those are, ahem, non-official. Gentlemen entrepreneurs will have stalls on the way to the ground. If it is a combo [two teams for a fixture of particular interest or a special event] they are almost certainly non kosher.

I was wondering if the excellent team goal last week might be to the net disadvantage of the team this season - trying too often and too hard to replicate it or at least the style of it.

Previous comment notwithstanding, perhaps there is a counter-argument to suggest that the local knock-offs have some cultural/social authenticity when compared with one of the usual vendors?

Next time I go to a game I'll try and remember to pick up a few extra bits and pieces. Chupacabra_Sandwich got a couple of MUFC Vs Fulham items season before last [?].

I pick up a 'jersey' at every MLB ground visit. I didn't get one for the Area 51's in LV earlier this year and I regret it a bit.

Oooh, the goalie guessed correctly. Thank goodness Arteta placed it well and had enough power behind it.

Arsenal leads, finally.

I'll be watching Stoke instead of Dortmund, and can't watch the Clasico. Pretty sure I shouldn't even be allowed in the thread after that.

My big idea during the week was to write Dear David Moyes to the tune of Dear Daily Mail. I have the first three words but then I get stuck.

Going to the MIGHTY Columbus Crew home finale tomorrow.  not that anyone would want stuff from that lot this season.  So disappointing.

Almost all English swear-words are Anglo-Saxon in origin. Most words about cooking from Norman French.
