List fails without "The Thing".

How dare they include the 2004 Dawn of the Dead and not the original.

The Omen was scary? Where's Poltergeist?

Would like a recount...

Scared the willies out of me as a youngster first time I saw it late at night on the local PBS station back in the mid-1970's.

What about "The Changeling (1980)" or "The Haunting (1963)"?

Alien was the scariest from that list for me.  By the end of the movie I had clenched half my theater seat up my ass.

Dracula (1992)  with Gary Oldman was a great film. Not necessarily scary but it had great production values. Keanu Reeves' attempting an English accent notwithstanding.

I gotta say I am shocked. As much as Farkers like movies, especially in this genre, I expected a LOT more than 8 posts since 8:45 this morning. Maybe if it had been on the Entertainment page?

BTW, neat list, Sinbox

Sinbox: SFW

Gah. My parents took me to see  Asylum in the theater when I was  FIVE FREAKING YEARS OLD. I screamed so loudly we had to leave...and yet I still remember the horror of seeing the wrapped head at the top of the stairs, and the way all the pieces slithered around the basement.

Funny, because seeing it now it just looks terribly cheesy.
